A trusted source called me asking “Why are you letting Dennis Bailey off so easy in your last several articles?” I replied, “What are you talking about?” The source says, “don’t you remember when Dennis Bailey first ran for the Shelby City Council, his opponent was Neil Blanton. And Bailey brought out that Neil Blanton was not married to the woman he was living with.”
I didn’t remember that right off, so I asked some questions. The source said that Neil Blanton dropped out of the race not long after Dennis Bailey started all the dirty stuff.
I started to remember stuff, but my source went on.
Dennis Bailey also was overheard talking about the rain that was predicted for election day. “Blacks don’t turn out to vote in the rain,” said Bailey. “They don’t want to get their ‘nappy’ heads wet.”
After that statement from Dennis Bailey got out on some of the blogs at the time, Wes Westmoreland chimed in defending his big buddy, Dennis Bailey. Westmoreland posted “it was all right for Dennis Bailey to say what he said because Andrew Hopper had said the same thing.”
Then, my source said that his wife had just come back from the grocery store and he had to help her bring in the groceries.
But I kept on searching my memory banks and doing a little checking around on google.
I googled “Dennis Bailey” and “Neil Blanton.” Google immediately pulled up two Shelby Star articles from September 2013. One was titled
What’s important for Shelby’s future? City council candidates …
The other was titled:
City council candidate drops out of race – News – Shelby Star
The lead-in stated:
Sep 25, 2013 —Now Dennis Bailey, the incumbent who is running for re-election, is the only candidate remaining in the Ward 4 race. Blanton said he…has dropped out for personal reasons.
I tried to open each article, but since I don’t and won’t “subscribe” to the Shelby Daily Liar, they did not pull up.
So, I went one better. I searched my own Citizens For Good Government website Archives for September of 2013. AND THERE IT WAS!!! I had written an article about the whole sad and sordid episode titled:
Dirty Politics and Blackmail in Shelby Elections???
The article was dated September 26, 2013.
As I read my own article from 8 years ago, it all came back to me. My source, who was going from his own memory, had left out the “blackmail” part that was obvious at the time. And also left out the collusion between the Shelby Star and Dennis Bailey to dig up dirt on Neil Blanton, which was that he had lived with this girl in his distant past. Years before he signed up to run for the Shelby City Council. And which had nothing to do about Neil Blanton’s qualifications to run for the Shelby City Council in 2013. And had everything to do with blackmailing Blanton to dropout of the election to protect his family from the Dennis Bailey and Shelby Star mudslinging.
So, I will not repeat my own article to you in this article, I will attach the whole thing at the end of this article for your convenience, If Dennis Bailey, the Shelby Star and Wes Westmoreland want to challenge the validity of this new article or the 8 year old article, they are certainly welcome to come forward with their comments. Note that they have remained silent for these past 8 years.
Also note that in my original article, the challenger is Neil Blanton and the incumbent is Dennis Bailey.
Folks, Ask yourself this. Why would anybody in the Republican Party want to form a “Group” around Dennis Bailey and Wes Westmoreland? Is it like the old saying, “Birds of a feather, stick together?” About anything “good” about this group, is that it is a very “small” group.
