The “notice” for the June 8th, 2020 regular School Board meeting includes a draft of the minutes of the minutes for the super-secret May 27, 2020 Special Called School Board meeting that is not identified as a draft and contains a vote in open session, following a Closed session to dismiss an employee. This vote in open session was not recorded on the CCS Broadcast for that meeting. I smell a rat!
The unapproved draft of the May 27, 2020 Special Called Meeting minutes contains one small paragraph stating the School Board voted to dismissed an employee. That paragraph is copied exactly as follows. Note that there is NO MENTION of what the employee is alleged to have done. Also note that School Board member Danny Blanton voted against the dismissal “because a police investigation should have been done.” An obvious cover-up by the Cleveland County School Board. But nothing is new with that.
The paragraph reads exactly as follows:
”Shearra Miller called for a motion to approve the dismissal of Wyshekia Nance as recommended by the superintendent in the closed session discussion. ON A MOTION BY ROGER HARRIS, SECONDED BY DR. JOHN C. HAMRICK, JR. the Board of Education voted 8 to 1 to approve the dismissal of employee Wyshekia Nance as recommended by the superintendent. Danny Blanton stated he voted “no” on the motion because a police investigation should have been done.”
We agree with Danny Blanton. If a CCS employee has been alleged to have committed a crime, a police investigation and associated prosecution should occur. Vigorous criminal prosecutions happen often enough in Cleveland County when a little black boy is accused of getting into a minor scuffle with a white boy. Or something along those lines. Perhaps the Court Square Protesters will take up this local issue? Along with the discrimination of Mr. Willie Green by the City of Shelby. Or, are the protesters on the Court Square just “coons” for the Massa’s? Only protest what happens far away. Just keeping a lid on the local black community as well as telling them how to vote on Election Day.
Editor’s NOTE: The Peaceful “Graduation” Protestors are planning another Peaceful Protest at the CCS Central Services this Monday, June 8, 2020 for the School Board members to actually have to come into contact with them. I don’t have the details yet, but perhaps the Courthouse Protesters should come down the street a few blocks and see how local issues can be protested peacefully. And especially how NOT to get involved with violence and looting. No “Silence = Violence” protest signs are allowed. No rock, brick and water bottle throwing allowed either.
