Folks, this is the beginning of a series of articles regarding a number of serious governance issues that have been covered up by the Cleveland County Commissioners. These are important Election issues for 2024 and 2026 that an informed public and voter needs to know about!! For your reading convenience, Robert A will break these issues down into individual and separate articles. The Cleveland County Commissioners are welcome to provide “their” input to these articles that will be “fact checked” and may lead to additional questions and articles.
- Animal Services Head Honcho (Director) unfairly “Fired” by County Manager??
- Commissioner Deb Harding accused of sponsoring “Dog Fights” from her home and other Financial impropriety/Conflicts of Interest situations alleged???
- A six-year-old Federal “Class Action” Lawsuit against Cleveland County and the CC Commissioners, for illegally withholding proper “overtime and regular pay” from over 100 EMS employees coming to trial very soon!!!
- Commissioner Impropriety without Accountability has trickled down to Department Heads and other staff members doing the same!!! Potential future legal actions are being considered??
Editor’s Note: The foundations and fact allegations of several of the items noted above were mostly published on Facebook about the time Robert A was “under the weather” back in March, (2024). Some additional information has been added based on personal observations, investigations and eye witness reports and verbal updates. Some reports, observations and conclusions are by Robert A himself, from his own personal knowledge. And a good memory that goes way back to the beginnings of the CC Trash Dump. Animal Control Department and the “Trash Dump” as a “remote” part of the CC Health Department. That was all bungled up and mismanaged by a set of Democrat Cleveland County Commissioners that now have all passed away. Only to be replaced by a batch of Rogue Republicans that have maintained and continued at an even higher levels of bungling and mismanagement. Perfect examples are:
- The botched repairs at the Midpines Recycling Centernear Kings Mountain that has inconvenienced (Increased time and expenses to haul off household garbage) about 20,000 Kings Mountain users as well as overcrowded at least 20,000 more at the Oak Grove and Patterson Springs recycling sites.
- The mismanaged CC Animal Services that has totally botched the CC Rabies Vaccination records and other animal services with potentially costly or even deadly human consequences. Robert Apersonally witnessed a woman (and other citizens too) who came to Commissioner’s meetings complaining she and others had been bit by vicious dogs, that the very painful Rabies Treatments cost $40,000 and that her time to determine if the dogs had been vaccinated for Rabies was close to running out. Note that the human fatality rate is 100% for untreated (or not treated in time) Rabies infections!!
- County employees picking up stray cats and releasing them at the Trash Dump. Then, using personal firearms, shooting the cats for target practice.
- A board of incompetent Cleveland County Commissioners who refuse to answer questions from the public and whose favorite MO is silence and cover-up!!
Folks, who needs CC County Commissioners (Kevin Gordon, Johnny Hutchins, Ronnie Whetstine, Deb Hardin and Doug Bridges) who can’t effectively run a trash dump or a dog pound in a proper and cost-effective manner??? Or much of anything else???!!!
