Most recent CCS documents show that “roughly 25% of CCS students have already missed 10% of school during the 2023-2024 School Year. A CCS “Team” is examining the reasons for suspensions in hopes of connecting students with interventions to prevent discipline infractions directly linked to additional absences.”
Other records show that Cleveland County Schools “has 14,324 students” in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 15 to 1. “According to state test scores, 47% of students are at least proficient in math and 49% in reading.”
Considering this up to date information and doing some easy calculations, CCS has:
- 3,438 Students who have missed 10% of their school days
- 7,592 Students who are not proficient inMath
- 7,305 Students who are not proficient in Reading
- Bullyingstatistics are kept a secret at CCS
So, who at CCS is responsible for such a poor academic record??
- Stephen Fisherhas been Superintendent at CCS for almost ALL of those 14,324 students’ educational lives.
- School Board Members Robert Queen, Joel Shores, Ron Humphries, Rodney Fitchand Greg Taylor have been the Majority on the CCS School Board for the past four years. Plenty of time to have gotten help to bring most of those 14,324 students up to proficiency levels, but failed to do so.
The conclusions here are obvious:
- Cleveland County Schools areFAILING CCS Students and CC Taxpayers!
- That the Five School Board Members who have failed to do their job at CCS should be replaced by Five of the six Candidates shown below:
Samantha Davis
Kenneth A Ledford
Sheila Canipe
David Fisher
Jay Carpenter
Matthew Canipe
Voters, Do your duty on Election Day and turn CCS around!!
