Political Signs are the mainstay of old time “good ole boy” Cleveland County Political Strategy. Since Cleveland County citizens have this aversion to keeping up with the truth about how their government operates, Political Signs are the preferred method of unscrupulous “insider” politicians to deceive the public at election time.
The more signs the better. And the bigger signs the better. ThIs is the favorite tactic for the big donors who want “their” candidate, no matter how dumb, corrupt or offensive, but are totally compelled to vote, when in office, as his big sign donors tell him (or her) to vote.
The intent is to deceive the public and voters into believing that the most and the biggest number of signs are directly related to the popularity and qualifications of that candidate. As if somehow that relates to a perceived belief that that person with the biggest and most signs would be the best candidate. When, in reality, the best candidates to represent the people are those candidates who owe no favors to big sign donors. But, to the citizens of Cleveland County.
Those candidates like Robert A (Williams for Commissioner) and others who refuse to play the big sign money game. Those candidates who refuse to waste their own money or the money of their “regular people” supporters would be the best candidates for election to office. So, Robert A bought just enough cheap yard signs size campaign signs to get his “name” noticed, but without selling his soul for 30 pieces of silver.
But, when it came time to do media advertisements, Robert A recognized why HE stands out, heads and shoulders, as the most qualified of any candidate for the Commissioners and the School Board all put together to be elected for political office.
Here are the details.
First, Robert A unconsciously knew that the small yard signs needed to have the candidates name and office in the biggest letters, so the drivers whizzing down the road at 55 MPH could read his name and maybe the office he was running for. There was no room on the signs for positions on the various political issues affecting Cleveland County.
Next, when Robert A was laying out small “card size” ads for the Shelby Shopper, etc., there was no room for much of anything else. Then, usually accompany elections, limit response time to candidates of only two minutes max. Again, no time to adequately and truthfully explain anything.
It was during this laying out of a Printed advertisement in the Shelby Shopper did the truth of the matter finally hit home. After the Elect Williams for Commissioner was laid out, Robert A, in much smaller letters added “Qualified and Ready to serve!! But that left a gap for one more word. So, Robert A added the word, “Best”. Then the statement read, “Best Qualified and Ready to serve.”
Then, the truth came to Robert A. The whole truth and nothing but the TRUTH.
Robert A is indeed the Best Qualified candidate for political officer in Cleveland County!!
ONLY Robert A has a documented position on issues. An extensive documentation of articles dating back almost 30 years in his political writings. Robert A has literally attended hundreds of School Board meetings, County Commissioner Meetings and CCC Board of Trustee meetings. Also, Court Trials and community meetings from all over Cleveland County. Robert A has spoken during the Public Comment agenda item section more often than any other person in the history of Cleveland County. Robert A has included “What I would do if I were a Cleveland County Commissioner” in many, many of his articles he has written over the past year. And inferred as much in the thousands of articles he has previously written and published.
