The brand-new Shelby Shopper (January 4-10, 2024) came out this very day! On page 7, at the top, was a “Sidewalk Survey” conducted by the Shopper that asked this simple question, Do YOU have a New Year’s Resolution?
The very first person to answer that survey question, pictured on the left and NOT identified as a CC Commissioner Candidate, was Cleveland County Commissioner Candidate Linda Laine. Linda Laine’s answer to that question, “do you have a New Year’s Resolution?” was simple, but elegant. But, most of all, telling. “No I don’t. I try to do the right things all the time.”
Some folks have asked me, “Robert A, you are running for Commissioner yourself. Why have you been endorsing Linda Laine and Carter York for CC Commissioner when they are running against you???” NOOooo, Robert A replies, I am running for Commissioner for Three main reasons:
(1) to represent the best interests of ALL the Citizens of Cleveland County;
(2) I believe that myself, Robert A Williams, Linda Laine and Carter York are the best candidates to represent the best interests of ALL the citizen of Cleveland County!! AND
(3) it takes THREE commissioners who can and will work together to form the majority on the CC Board of Commissioners that is necessary to accomplish things RIGHT!!
It is ALL about trying to do the right things and ALL the time.
Editor’s Note: Folks, forget about all the big campaign signs going up everywhere. Those big signs that are paid for by big special interests who are expecting a big return on their investment. Nobody named ON all those big signs everywhere has told YOU one word about anything related to HOW they will accomplish the things that they haven’t even told you what it is that they want to accomplish.
