All Robert A’s previous talk about running for the office of a Cleveland County Commissioner has moved from just talk to a definite action. Robert A drove himself down to the CC Board of Elections at around 1:15 PM yesterday, December 7, 2023. Filled out and signed the papers and plopped down a check for the $113.72 filing fee. Folks, the race is on and Robert A intends to win!! Today, Robert A is ordering some campaign signs and making a list of things to do to get his message out to the public–that help is on the way.
Folks, political campaigns cost money. Filing fees, signs, ads, etc. However, Robert A intends to self-finance his campaign and will not be out paying big bucks for any large billboards, paid consultants, Charlotte TV station ads or anything of that sort. Robert A is enlarging his website, setting up social media exposure and enlarging his YouTube presence, etc. Maybe a few small advertisements here and there too. Robert A will be thrifty with his expenditures and JUST AS THRIFTY with spending taxpayer dollars. Robert A will not spend more than he can personally afford on a political campaign. Or spend Taxpayer Dollars on any boondoggles! Etc.
Robert A does not intend to go around Cleveland County chasing rich people for money and then owe them all kinds of special favors. Every vote that Robert A would make as a Cleveland County Commissioner would be what was in the BEST INTERE#ST of Cleveland County as a whole.
Of course, campaign donation would be accepted, but not demanded from the citizens and voters of Cleveland County to get a fair representation. All Robert A will request from voters is for voters to pay attention to the political issues facing Cleveland County and make up YOUR own minds about who to vote for in the 2024 Primary and General Elections.
Also, folks, Robert A would suggest that every voter ignore such campaign promises and ideas such as “I will be Transparent” and “I will change things for the better!” Look for candidates that, not only promise to make things better, but tell you in advance exactly what they would change to make things better and exactly HOW they would make those changes for the better. That is exactly what Robert A will do. Not only during this campaign, but in every article that he publishes. That is exactly what Robert A already does in most every article and will continue to do during this campaign and also during his term in off.
DO NOT BELIEVE THE FALSE RUMOR GOING AROUND THAT ROBERT A WILL BE FORCED TO QUIT HIS WRITINGS IF HE IS ELECTED A CC COMMISSIONER!!
If anything, Robert A will increase his writings to document to the people why he voted the way he votes on any of the issues that are brought before the commissioners for approval. Also know that Robert A will continue his position that he would vote NO to approve anything that he has not been provided enough justification to vote YES to approve. Robert A would NEVER “go along, just to get along.”
Also note that Robert A hereby challenges every candidate (Incumbents too) for the office of CC Commissioner to a Debate on the issues as soon as possible. The citizens and voters of Cleveland County need to know they are not getting a “pig in a poke!”
