At the November 2023 monthly meeting of the Cleveland County GOP (Also known as the CCGOP or Republican Party of Cleveland County) the CCGOP President, Sherry Yocum, announced that she had been contacted by CC Commissioner Ronnie Whetstine who had asked that it be announced that he, Commissioner Ronnie Whetstine, would NOT be seeking reelection in the 2024 elections. No other information was given by CCGOP President Sherry Yocum or anybody else.
Note that Commissioner Whetstine’s present term in office runs for more than one year. Until the newly elected Commissioners of the 2024 elections are sworn in sometime in December of 2024.
Although it is not wise to assume anything, Robert A predicts the Rogues within the CCGOP will soon be “hounding” Commissioner Ronnie Whetstine mercilessly to RESIGN from his Commissioner’s office IMMEDIATELY and before the 2024 Election candidates filing period (Noon, December 4th 2023 thru Noon, December15, 2023). If Commissioner Whetstine would resign immediately, that creates a vacancy that will be filled by the Executive Committee of the CCGOP. Their crooked, but unfortunately common MO, would be to appoint one of their “insider buddies” for the remainder of Commissioner Whetstine’s term in office. That way their buddy would be running in the 2024Elections as an INCUMBENT, but mostly without a questionable voting record. This is Dirty Politics 101 for the CCGOP Rogue Republicans. With plenty of examples.
