Editor’s Note: Folks, I had to break off Part 1 of this article about the many strange happenings at the June 12, 2023, CCS School Board Meeting for fear that too much of this news was hazardous to your health. That concern applies to this article too. You will soon know why.
First, an update on the “Lady Liberty” HERO that defeated Robert Queen and Shelby Interim Police Chief Brad Frazier’s failed attempt to remove Lady Liberty from that meeting. You might want to scroll back and re-read the previous Lady Liberty article prior to proceeding.
As was previously reported a young lady who signed into the Public Participation used the name “Connie,” which was short for CONSEQUENCES. Chairman Robert Queen, when Connie got around to his shenanigans ordered Lady Liberty “Connie” to leave the premises and when Lady Liberty refused to leave, Queen ordered the Security officer to remove Lady Liberty. The SPD Officer, knowing that Lady Liberty had not committed any crime sufficient to be arrested, asked Lady Liberty to please leave, but Lady Liberty, a true Patriot at heard stood her ground and did not leave. Queen called or had someone to call the Interim Shelby Police Chief and told who knows what to the Chief. The Chief sends another officer with instructions for both officers to remove Lady Liberty. Lady Liberty continued to hold her ground. And since Lady Liberty had Constitutional Law on her side, and everybody knew it, the SPD officers correctly took no action to physically remove Lady Liberty from the premises.
Since Queen was totally defeated in his “power play,” waterboy Ron Humphries called for the Closed Session to be moved up to that point in the meeting so the shamed Robert Queen’s quick temper could cool down. This is where the previous article left off. And a good place to update all y’all on Lady Liberty.
As it turns out, Lady Liberty had attended a previous School Board Meeting and was seated near the back of the room. There was high attendance at that meeting. For some unprovoked reason, Robert Queen signaled out Lady Liberty at that meeting and also ordered Lady Liberty removed from the premises. Again, Lady Liberty protested but eventually did leave. Apparently, on second thought, Lady Liberty realized Queen had no authority to have her removed just on his, Robert Queen’s “whim,” and Lady Liberty bravely decided there would NEVER happen again. Perhaps Lady Liberty had also talked to an Attorney.
In any event, Lady Liberty knew her rights and exercised them well at this June 12, 2023 School Board Meeting. Lady Liberty would not be bullied and pushed around by the likes of Robert Queen and the Shelby PD Chief. It also happens to be that Lady Liberty attends the same Church as Robert Queen. So, Robert Queen gets a reminder of his defeat on whatever regular basis that he attends Church. It is likely that very soon Robert Queen will learn that “Pride go-eth before a fall.”
Now folks, we will take up this article to when the CCS School Board came out of Closed Session and Robert Queen made an announcement.
Queen stated that personnel actions were discussed and it was voted on (Illegal in a Closed Session) that Superintendent Stephen Fisher’s Contract had been extended another year to end June 30, 2027. And that Fisher’s pay had been increased 4.3%. Which is roughly $10,000. Danny Blanton asked that Queen announce the vote count of that illegal vote in Closed Session and Queen refused to make that vote count public. Also, Fisher’s unnecessarily large group of assistants were given large pay increases. Robert A predicts that vote count om Fisher was 6-3 with Danny Blanton, Ronnie Grigg and Aaron Bridges voting NO! (Editor’s Note: North Carolina Law requires such votes to be taken in OPEN Session. Apparently, the School Board’s Roadwhore Lawyers failed to advise Robert Queen and the other School Board Members of that fact.)
Also, since this likely totally illegal Closed Session lasted for about an hour and a half, Robert A believes it must have been a knock down drag out meeting. And, as usual, the CCS big shots get big buck increases while the people that teach the kids, drive the buses and clean up the messes get very little. Or get terminated. Like all those 82+ employees that were terminated recently as previously reported.
Stay tuned folks. This four-hour meeting had lots of other things going on that will have you calling the Commissioners asking for them to do something about the lavish pay for the big shots and close to nothing for everybody else.
