Editor’s Note: Robert A’s recent article about the Mass Violence THREAT at Shelby High School which stated Robert A “smelled a rat” has turned out to be an understatement. The CCS statement to the Shelby Star that the Shelby Police Department had “solved the issue” has turned out to be totally false. Read on for the full story!!
The Shelby Star’s earlier report that a MASS Violence threat at Shelby High School caused a panic is now dwarfed by copy-cat threats to other CCS schools as well as a whole weeks-worth of fights at Kings Mountain High School. Eight fights in four days, two fights today, three separate fights going on simultaneously. 215 students kept home by parents scared for their children’s safety. The lunchroom shut down for eating-kids take their lunch to their classrooms to eat. Resource Officer and two CCS staff reported injured.
The common denominators to all this mass violence have boiled down to six things:
- Black girls are fighting black girls.
- Cell Phones. Used to record the girl fights and to share the fighting with others.
- Parents are notifying School Board members, but CCS Superintendent Stephen Fisher is not notifying the School Board. And the School Board has NOT called an Emergency Meeting.
- The Kings Mountain Police Department’s providing of Resource Officers is overwhelmed. Sheriff’s Office Deputies stationed at the Casino have NOT been reported to have been called in to assist the overloaded KMPD, although they are just a few miles away.
- The Commissioners and the Sheriff appear to be totally MIA (missing in action) in providing assistance in restoring law and order at Kings Mountain High School.
- Discipline appears to be totally lacking in the students that are involved with the fighting at KMHS.
Also,” learning” at KMHS and other schools under threats of violence has dropped to ZERO. CCS is in an emergency situation and nobody is in charge or even admitting there is a problem.
At times like this, Robert A has to wonder “What would I do if I was elected to the Cleveland County Board of Commissioners?” The answer is simple. “I would take charge.” I would send an overwhelming presence of Law Enforcement to KMHS or anywhere else where such riotous situations were occurring. But, better than that, I would have required the CCS School Board Safety and Security Committee to have already studied such a situation as this and have sufficient planning and leadership plans in place to prevent or limit such widespread disobedience and violence in the first place. Most of all, Robert A will study this and other problems and implement the necessary advance preventive measures. NO cover-ups or excuses. All transparency, real and genuine transparency across the board. Not to go somewhere and hide until the thing at hand blows over. And then make excuses or just say nothing at all. Like the present School Board, CCS and the County Commissioners will do now.
Stay tuned folks. There is tomorrow and next week coming immediately and the “problem” is still at hand. With this band of incompetent leaders in Cleveland County, this fiasco may go on for a very long time.
For your information, one of the cell phone videos floating around is shown below. And this one is mild compared with others that Robert A has only heard about.
