First, some facts:
- The Commissioners Sales Tax Increase Referendum failed overwhelmingly, Record Inflation continues,
- Property Values plummeting,
- Interest Rates going through the ROOF,
- Job Market Foundering,
- Gas prices increasing again,
- The Commissioners are spending like Drunken Sailors!!! $425,000 for the American Legion World Series. $167,500 for the Fair. $500,000 more for the Shooting Range. $150,000 for a fence at the Fair. $1,000,000+ to clean up the mess at the old Doran Mill Property.
- Let’s NOT forget the County having to pay up to settle a slew of lawsuits!!! $500,000+ for the beating death in the jail and other jail related items. The $1,000,000 lawsuit against EMS for cheating an Ems worker out of overtime pay. Times 70 for the other 70 EMS workers who will file lawsuits after this first one goes before a jury. Right now, the Commissioners appealed to the US Supreme Court rather than go before a jury. Apparently knowing they will lose.
- And, last but not least. The Catawba CASINO will likely be gone shortly!!! To be replaced by a Cherokee run Casino!!!???? And the Cherokees won’t be doing any payoffs to the County or revenue sharing contracts like the Catawba Indians did. Robert A predicts the Catawba and Cherokee Indians will team-up to nullify all the illegal and sometimes secret contracts the Catawba Indians signed with the Cleveland County Commissioners and even the State of North Carolina to share in on the Indian Casino revenues. And all the bribes the Catawbas have offered to the various officials. Folks, go to the nearest Public Library and read the front-page article in the November 7th 2022 Charlotte Observer about the latest issues with the Catawba Casino. Even Shelby Businessman Doug Brown, “an early Casino Investor” is selling out while selling out is still an option. People like Former County Manager David Deer, Former Commissioner Eddie Holbrook and others may well be facing prison time. If you get a peek at that Charlotte Observer article, check out the pictures that are included. Commissioner Johnny Hutchins appears to be on the far-right side, holding the Ribbon, at the Casino Ribbon Cutting ceremony. Standing there smiling while holding the ribbon as Catawba Chief Bill Harris is doing the cutting. Hutchins appears to be way too close to the “action” to be best looking out for the best interest of Cleveland County citizens. Especially after he is quoted in the Charlotte Observer Article saying that he had “always supported the Casino Project.” Yet, Hutchins, Holbrook, David Deer, Brian Epley, Kevin “Mad Dog” Gordon or any other Commissioner have NEVER officially asked the citizens of Cleveland County for their input on whether or not to build a casino in Cleveland County. And for those CC Citizens that did speak against the Casino, the elitist Commissioners just stuck their noses up in the air and refused to comment. Perhaps some more of them will also be facing prison time before this controversy is over.
Now, with all these negative hits on Cleveland County Governments cash flow, just what are the Commissioners doing to offset all these self-destructive acts and balance Cleveland County’s budget. What new revenue sources are the Commissioners, and especially Chairman Kevin “Mad Dog” Gordon thinking about? What schemes to pick Taxpayer’s pickets are the Commissioners talking about?
Folks, You will soon be sorry that last question was asked. Right after you get done laughing at MAD Dog Gordon’s proposals to pass a County NOISE Ordinance and THEN to require a Permit for events held by citizens. An Event Permit that will surely have a cost or fee associated with it.
And what would be considered an event? Anything and everything. Your kid’s birthday party held in your back yard? A Christmas Party? A Memorial Day Party? Anything? Everything!!! With a FEE attached to every one of them.

And Mad Dog wants his neighbors arrested immediately-at 3 AM. Perhaps us citizens can have Mad Dog Gordon arrested for his plotting and scheming to take money out of citizens pockets for his crazy spending. Anyway, watch the video folks.
