At the July 25, 2022 School Board meeting there was some somewhat heated discussion about the schools “Free Lunch” program and how many, many children in poverty only get their daily nutrition at school. And CCS serves them food that is not fit to eat, blaming it on the Federal United States Department of Agriculture guidelines for reimbursement. School Board candidate Ronnie Grigg has investigated this and has scheduled a trip down to the Greenville, SC School District to see how and why THEY are so successful with their nutrition program and what Cleveland County Schools can do to improve their nutrition program. Mr. Grigg invited all the School Board to attend that meeting. Candidate Ronnie Grigg and Danny Blanton and perhaps candidate Aaron Bridges are the only ones who have shown an interest so far in attending (August 2, 2022) this PROACTIVE session on solving a long-term problem at CCS. This should be well remembered in the 2022 School Board elections. More about this in other articles.

Note that Robert A started off this article as he did to show that there are many, many children in dire-straights in Cleveland County and CCS doesn’t do much to help them. Especially in providing nutritious food AND providing school supplies for poor students.

Parents Against Bullying NC, Inc. a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization has stepped up their efforts to provide (among other things) school supplies to children in need of those supplies. Robert A is recommending that those who want to help with the education of our children to make generous donations to Parents Against Bullying NC, Inc. If your donations are by check, make that generous check out to Parents Against Bullying NC, Inc. If by cash or actual donations of School Supplies, ask for a receipt. All are acceptable for a valid income tax deduction.

I am attaching copies of two Parents Against Bullying NC, Inc. Flyers for your convenience in making your donations and contact information if you would like to offer your services on a volunteer basis.

Please be generous with all that you can do for the poor children in Cleveland County.
