Robert A has previously reported that on the 2022 Cleveland County Republican Primary Election Day, May 17, 2022, the Commissioners made two new appointments to the Cleveland Community College Board of Trustees. The Commissioners declined to reappoint Wes Westmoreland and Chris Monroe and appointed Anthony “Tony” Berry and Kenneth Ledford.
Robert A does Not know Tony Berry, but DOES know Kenneth Ledford. And believes that these two new appointments, as well as other new appointments that are on the way will go a long way to reign-in the elitist and Rogue Republicans that had taken over at CCC. The prediction is: in 2023, a new round of appointments as well as Kevin Gordon and Betty Carrigan on the CCC Board of Trustees will round out a new majority and certainly be the end of the “Monkey Business” that has plagued CCC for so long.
But, Robert A, always cautious that the removal of a few “rotten apples” in a governing body (especially in Cleveland County) does not always clean out all the other “apples” that have been “spoiled” while the Rogues have been in power. (The ALWS, Baseball, Inc. being sucked up to large sums of Cleveland County taxpayer dollars is another good example of that.)
So, Robert A. submitted a verbal Public Records request to the Commissioners that very Election Day evening after the Commissioners meeting asking for the list of people who had applied for those CCC BoT Appointments.
Now, that Public Records Request has come in to Robert A, and guess what??? The relatively short list was in alphabetical order. Rogue Republican Party Chairman David Allen was at the top of that list and the Rogue Republican Party Co-Treasurer Lisa (Mrs. Kevin) Whisnant was at the bottom of that list.
Obviously, the Rogue Republican Party Leadership, including Wes Westmoreland, Robert Queen and Dennis Bailey who are still associated with the CCC BoT want to keep it that way–Rogue Republican, elitist and Snub-lican. And David Allen and Mrs. Kevin Whisnant applying to be appointed was just a crude political ploy by the Republican Party to maintain their grip on power and control of Cleveland Community College. Thank you, Commissioners Kevin Gordon, Deb Hardin, Doug Bridges, Johnny Hutchins and Ronnie Whetstine for NOT letting that happen.
However, folks, DO NOT EXPECT the ROGUE REPUBLICANS to give up easily!! So far voters in the 2022 Republican School Board Elections have managed to keep Danny Blanton in contention for re-election to the CCS School Board. And Ronnie Grigg too. Even after all the dirty tricks. But folks, we all must turn out in the 2022 General Election on November 8, 2022 and “Seal the Deal.” Double Shot mark your 2022 School Board ballot for Danny Blanton and Ronnie Grigg only.
And, let’s also think ahead to the 2023 application for Appointment to the CCC BoTs. It does make sense, especially considering about the COVID shutdowns of schools, that CCS and CCC Boards work together to make innovations to help our students recover from all the educational downtime they have experienced. Danny Blanton and Ronnie Grigg, please consider making your application to the Commissioners for appointment to the Cleveland Community College Board of Trustees in 2023.
Also, you good citizens of Cleveland County. YOU too can make application to the Commissioners to serve on the CCC BoTs. Let’s make sure the Commissioners have plenty of good folks to choose from and not have to appoint any more Snub-licans to anything!!!
