In an email message sent at 8:47 PM October 4, 2020 Rev. Dante Murphy sent the following message to Cleveland County Commissioner Chairman Susan Allen stating:

Commissioners Susan Allen,

The purpose of this email is to inform you of my intent to file a lawsuit in federal court in response to having received the attached document. Please let me know by next (week) if you wish to entertain any discussion to settle this matter prior to a lawsuit being filed.

Please let me know by the end of next week if you wish to resolve this matter.

Rev. Dante’ Murphy

Rev. Murphy copied Commissioners Ronnie Whetstine, Johnny Hutchins, Doug Bridges and Deb Hardin. Also copied were County Manager Brian Epley and DSS advisory Board members Mary Accor, Betsy Wells, Dale Oliver and Lendra Phillips as well as County Attorney Tim Moore and Shelby Star Reporter/Editor Diane Turbyfill.

This is a public document and a public record. Don’t believe me, ask your favorite Commissioner to see this message and explain to you why Cleveland County and Shelby are screwing over people and getting sued. Requiring taxpayers to pay the bills.

It is noted that Rev. Murphy filed a Federal Lawsuit against Cleveland County and DSS several years ago and won.

When will Cleveland County and the City of Shelby ever learn? Taxpayers are tired of having to pay off because of the stupidity, malicious intent and illegal acts of the Cleveland County Commissioners and bad actor employees. It is noted that Rev. Murphy’s previous lawsuit led to numerous employees confessing under oath that they broke the law upon the orders of the DSS Director. Yet, no disciplinary actions were ever taken. You can bet this second time around for Rev. Murphy will result in sufficient penalties against Cleveland County that they would never do what they did ever again.

My prediction is Cleveland County and the DSS will not settle with Rev. Murphy and will require Rev. Murphy to file his lawsuit. My belief is Rev. Murphy, like “Brer’ Rabbit” in the Tales of Uncle Remus, will find himself in the “Briar Patch.” Laughing all the way to the bank with his big bag full of taxpayer cash.

Like I said previously, when will the County Commissioners and the City of Shelby ever learn? I will also add, when will the taxpayers and voters ever learn!!!

Stay tuned folks! This will take a while to work its way through the Courts. And Rev. Murphy is “batting” 1,000.
