The Shelby Star reported Friday October 2, 2020 that CCS knew about COVID-19 positive tests on Monday, September 28, 2020. The COVID-19 Update at the September 28th School Board meeting presented by CCS Superintendent Stephen Fisher and assisted by Health Department representative Tiffany Hansen did NOT reveal the COVID-19 positive test results. Assistant County Manager Kerri Melton and Commissioners Doug Bridges and Deb Hardin were also present.

Also, at the Cleveland Community College School Board forum the following Tuesday evening, the incumbent School Board Members Shearra Miller, Richard Hooker and Roger Harris did not reveal the positive COVID-19 test results from Crest High School that was about to cause a school shutdown.

Therefore, Under the Freedom of Information Act as well as North Carolina Public Records Laws, I am requesting the following documents, records and information:

1. An opportunity to inspect or copy all email messages (sent, received or deleted), other documents and records sent and received by the following persons related to the COVID-19 positive tests at Crest High School between 0800 September 28, 2020 through 1800 October 2, 2020[:

• CCS Communications Director Greg Shull
• School Board Member Phillip Glover.
• School Board Chairman Shearra Miller
• School Board Vice-Chairman Richard HookerNote
• School Board member Roger Harris
• County Manager Brian Epley
• Assistant County Manager Kerri Melton
• County Commissioner Doug Bridges
• County Commissioner Deb Hardin
• Cleveland County Health Department Director Tiffany Hansen
• Crest High School Principal Holly Robinson
• Cleveland County Public Relations Director Janet Hart
• Commissioners, Susan Allen, Ronnie Whetstine, and Johnny Hutchins

Note that all the documents and records requested are very recent and a response is expected by Close of Business Wednesday October 7, 2020.

Thank you in advance for your rapid response.
