We will feature an ongoing School Board Candidate’s Forum from now until the 2020 Election Day-November 3, 2020. The public is welcome to ask questions, make comments and suggestions and fact check. Candidates may ask other candidates questions-and everything in between Online debates are welcome. Fact checks will be provided when available and are also open to the public.
We have noted today that the POTUS and FLOTUS have tested positive for COVID-19. We all wish them well and Pray for their speedy recovery. We also note that Crest High School has closed for at least two weeks because of excessive COVID-19 POSITIVE test results-that included Crest Principal Holly Robinson.
Fact Checking:
Information has come to us that School Board Members, Shearra Miller, Richard Hooker and Roger Harris knew of the Crest High School COVID_19 outbreak as early as MONDAY (September 28, 2020) and did not allow the outbreak to be announced during the School Board meeting that very evening nor at the 2020 School Board Candidates Forum at Cleveland Community College that very next night. No discussion and decision to close Crest High School was made at that September 28, 2020 meeting nor at any time thereafter. We have also learned that a mass email message was sent out to all Crest High School students informing them of the closure at Crest, but that same email message was quickly deleted from the CCS email system soon thereafter. If any parent has a copy of that email, message, please send us a copy.
We have several questions for incumbents:

1. Why did you refuse to notify the public and parents about the COVID-19 outbreak at Crest High School at the School Board Meeting held September 28, 2020 as well as at the 2020 School Board Candidates Forum that very next night?
2. Since there was no “Called Meeting” at any other time before the Shelby Star published an article about the closure of Crest High School, WHO did make the decision to Close Crest High School and when???
