Mr. Larry Henson made this comment to my article titled: Commissioners appeal small claims lawsuit to Federal Court!! School Board and City of Shelby may follow!
“Well this NEEDS to be CRIMINALLY USED against the City of Shelby, City Manager (personally and corporately) as a Continuing Course of Conduct, Violation of Constitutionally Protected Rights (Yes, Property Rights the Manger goes after for his Friends, Personnel and Family Gain) and the Elected Shelby City Council! Factually ANY two Federal Crimes, constitutes a RICO violation.”
L. E. Henson
Mr. Willie Green responds to Mr. Henson’s comment like this.
Mr. Henson,
To your point. I have requested a federal investigation of the continuing conduct of the City of Shelby toward me as a minority business owner. And since the City refuses to settle my lawsuits so that I can build the sports facility in Shelby or my townhouse development. I have decided to look at other cities to do business.
Although I won’t be able to provide all the student-athletes in Cleveland County a sports facility for them to train and compete. I can offer a solution to end my lawsuits and the Civil Rights Title IX investigation of the Shelby High School girls not having a softball field on the SHS campus. And also, a solution where the Shelby Post 82 American Legion Girls Softball team will also have a permanent home field and training facility, by donating my 14 acres of land to the Shelby HS softball team.
If the City and School system are open for that discussion, so are we.
Willie A. Green, Sr
Editor’s Note: Solutions to problems like this have never before evolved from discussions (or the lack thereof) from the Shelby Star, Black Leadership in Shelby, the Commissioners or anywhere else. Only here on this website. And rarely at that. But that is what is needed. Someplace to “float” possible solutions to sticky issues. Evan after saying that, it takes someone with good intentions, like Mr. Willie Green, to make the effort to resolve issues with win-win solutions. Let us hope that Mr. Greens generous offer will not reach deaf ears and hard hearts. Or stupidity and corruption.
As for Mr. Green looking to do business elsewhere, what a shame the shenanigans from the City of Shelby and inept Black leadership throughout has driven Mr. Willie Green to look for “greener” (no pun intended) pastures. Only corruption and poor leadership across the board could have caused such a sad occurrence. We wish Mr. Green well in all his endeavors. We also wish the “Massa’s” have good enough sense to make such a good deal that Mr. Green has offered. And that the Shelby High School Girls softball team as well as the American Legion Post 82 Girls softball team will step up and publicly support Mr. Green’s fine offer.
