This is the ruling made by the Cleveland County Board of Elections Director:

There’s no requirement in the statute that the replacement have been affiliated with the political party for a certain period of time. The 90-days requirement only refers to a candidate who is filing to run in the primary.

CCBOE Director Clifton Philbeck

In 2018 “Massa Eddie” Holbrook spent over $68,000 in his losing bid for re-election as a Democrat. One has to wonder how much money is involved this go around to bring back Massa Eddie or even Susan Allen.

If the Republican Executive Board is smart, (a collective average IQ of over 65) they will appoint either Dennis Davis or Robbie Morgan. Both Davis and Morgan had the gumption to legally file and run for Commissioner in the 2020 Republican Primary.

Or, they could appoint ME!!! I am registered as a Republican and meet all the criteria. I know most of where the problems are based on what they refuse to give me under Freedom of Information Act laws.

Wouldn’t that be a hoot!!! No more secret wheeling and dealings. Total transparency and no more good-ole-boy shenanigans. Maybe I should show up at the NEXT Republican Party Meeting, pay the $100 to join the Executive Committee and nominate myself to fill the vacancy. Maybe I will take Willie McIntosh up on his offer to loan me his bullet proof vest. And reactivate my conceal-carry permit. My first campaign promise would be NOT to spend a dime on my election campaign so that I don’t owe anybody any favors due to any campaign donations. My second campaign promise would be to only serve one term! My third campaign promise would be to refuse to serve on any other board. That way I would never have a conflict of interest with anybody trying to get more than their fair share of tax dollars. I would be fully representing the taxpayers and citizens and nobody else. Like I said before, wouldn’t that be a hoot!!!
