Editor’s Note: This article is dedicated to all those that have called me over and over asking what the commissioners are going to do with this extra Sales tax money. I keep telling them that I do NOT know. The Commissioners refuse to tell me. The commissioners refuse to tell you exactly where this money will go. EXACTLY what projects and where. Therefore, I am providing my recommendation on how to vote on this sales tax increase referendum as noted below.
We encourage a maximum voter Turnout on this Sales tax increase referendum!!!
My recommendation for every voter in Cleveland County is this. When you go into the voting booth and are about to mark your ballot on the Sales tax Increase referendum, ask yourself one, and only one question. Just EXACTLY where will this extra money go???
If you can say with certainly, exactly where this extra money will go–what project and where; you should vote “FOR” the referendum.
But, if you cannot say with any certainty, EXACTLY where this extra money will go; you should vote “AGAINST” the sales tax increase referendum!!!
That is what any right- thinking voter would do. Period!!!
I would also say that any voter that cannot understand what I just said; any voter that would vote FOR a pig in a poke, a costly pig in a poke; YOU need your head examined. And YOU deserve to be cheated out of YOUR money. YOUR money, not mine. YOUR money, not the money of people sensible enough to want to make our commissioners answerable to the people.
Also, those that vote FOR pigs in pokes are THE problem with our society today, here in Cleveland County. Here and now!! YOU are the folks that believe in the Tooth Fairies and the Santa Claus’s on the Cleveland County Commissioner’s Board! When they tell you lies and waste OUR tax dollars–$$millions at a time. If the Commissioners have good plans on EXACTLY where this money will go-again EXACTLY where this money will go; why are they so ashamed that they won’t tell us? Or can’t tell us?
Vote AGAINST this sales tax increase. If the extra money has a good purpose, make the commissioners tell us EXACTLY what that purpose is. Otherwise, vote AGAINST these PIGS in A POKE kind of deals. Don’t continue to be a dopey nincompoop! Use your brain. Is this tax increase right or wrong? You never know when YOU buy a pig in a poke!!! So, if you don’t KNOW whether the tax increase is right or WRONG, you should vote AGAINST it.
