Editor’s Note: This strategy is meant to remove corrupt elected officials, incompetent elected officials and “out of touch” elected officials at the ballot box on their re-election day. This is certainly NOT meant as an inducement or an endorsement for any physical violence toward anybody over anything.
The United States Constitution provides for a Democratic-Republican form of government. Democratic in that each and every qualified voter (who votes) is to have an equal say in who will be their representative in the actual practice of our various governmental bodies. For instance, we voters in Cleveland County cast our vote for the candidate who we want to serve as a Cleveland County Commissioner. Or on the Cleveland County School Board. Who will do their best to be honest, trustworthy and above board in all their representation of us citizens. This is evidenced and documented by their vote on important issues as related to citizens and Cleveland County as a whole.
We expect our commissioners and school board members to do what is “right” and to do it in the right way. Doing what is “right” may be controversial. Doing things the right way is not controversial. State law defines how governmental agencies are required to conduct business in public, limit closed sessions to a very few good reasons, provides procedures and rules for conducting business and other such things. All these things are written and available for public inspection. These rules and procedures are clear to anyone with common sense.
Problems arise when short cuts are taken with the law and rules when the County Commissioners and School Board members conduct their official business. What may seem to be honest departures from state and federal laws is illegal and may actually be cover-ups for many forms of graft, corrupt, unethical and illegal acts. And it is impossible to tell the difference. Things like manipulating Meeting Minutes to falsely describe what transpired at a meeting, holding closed sessions for things that are supposed to be discussed in open meetings, dummied up audits, false statements, and especially deception are all “red flags” of corruption. That is why, when I go to these meetings, I look for the “tell-tale” signs of corruption-the deviation from state law in the commissioners and school board meetings from strictly following state law, procedures and even their own policies.
Also, such things as the Commissioners, School Board members and the Cleveland Community College Board of Trustees invoking maximum time limits on Citizens Participation for items state law requires as minimum requirements is also of grave concern that corruption is afoot. Corruption that is alive and well. Thriving even.
So, what are voters to do when Commissioners, School Boards and Community College Boards deviate from state law and get caught over and over again? For years and years until corruption is ingrained and rampant? And business as usual???
The answer is simple. You Vote to Kill. You encourage qualified candidates from the community to come forward to run in opposition to the incumbents and you vote AGAINST every incumbent by voting for a challenger! Hopefully for a better representative, but you certainly vote against the incumbent. And if the challenger wins and becomes corrupt too, you vote him out at the very next election.
Folks, a Vote to Kill strategy is often just common sense. A form of “checks and balances” as set forth by our founding fathers for keeping our government as honest and law abiding as possible. It is actually Patriotic to inform yourself of what your government is doing and Voting to Kill at every election. To “purify” our government at every election. When you don’t know which candidate to vote for, always vote for the challenger. That is as good as it gets in these times of corruption and divisiveness at every level.
To put this strategy into play to rid the corruption in the Cleveland County Commissioner’s Board as well as the School Board in the 2020 Elections, which is approaching fast, at this point when challenging candidates have not yet been able to sign up, remember this:
The Commissioner incumbents likely running for reelection in 2020 are Susan Allen, Ronnie Whetstine and Johnny Hutchins. Make a note for yourself to vote for any challenger rather than these three. Also note that these three Commissioners represent the majority on the Commissioner’s Board. Three new Commissioners, working together, can undo many acts of corruption on the Commissioner’s Board the very instant they are sworn in. Which is what they should do as they will have a mandate from the voters to do so.
The CCS School Board incumbents likely running for reelection in 2020 are Shearra Miller, Richard Hooker, Roger Harris, Joe Boggs and Jeff Jones. Make a note for yourself to vote for any challenger rather than these five. Also note that these five School Board Members represent the majority on the School Board. Five new School Board Members, working together, can undo many acts of corruption on the School Board the very instant they are sworn in. Which is what they should do as they will also have a mandate from the voters to do so.
Of course, this Vote to Kill strategy can be applied to every elected official from the Mayor of Fallston, to the Governor. And as high above that as necessary. I will say that I do support the Re-election of Donald Trump as President because there is so much more of the “swamp” in Washington DC, just like Cleveland County, that needs to be drained.
Also, remember to vote AGAINST the Cleveland County Sales tax increase. A tax increase that the commissioners refuse to tell us, specifically, where the extra money will go.
Stay tuned folks. Inform yourself and vote in every election that you are eligible to vote you’re your vote can and will make a difference. Go vote on Election Day and take somebody with you.
