Folks, in the past week I have exposed three prime examples of the Commissioners and the School Board wasting $650,000. It goes like this:
1. The Commissioners are wasting $150,000 tax money on a fence at the Fair that no reasonable person can say is needed or necessary.
2. The Commissioners are giving or already have secretly given the ALWS Baseball, Inc and Eddie Holbrook $400,000 in tax money.
3. The School Board just voted to promote a Preacher’s daughter into a new position she is totally unqualified for. At a salary of at least $100,000 tax money plus benefits.
$150,000 + $400,000 + $100,000 = $650,000. Right? Right!!!
Editor’s Note: That is over $6.50 for every man, woman and child in Cleveland County for just these three cost savings ideas. If the whole 2019-2020 budget of $116 million was cut by 10%, that is $11.6 million. Big bucks in savings for all taxpayers, including businesses. That would be enough incentives to lure all kinds of good paying businesses to Cleveland County. So, who needs the Economic Development Partnership? That crowd that secretly spends over $6 million per year, with no accountability.
However, if the County taxpayers would just pay for taking ME out to dinner, at, say, $13.00 per meal, how many dinner meals would that be??
Well, $650,000 divided by $13 = 5,000 meals
5,000 meals, one dinner meal per day, would equal 5,000 as in 5,000 days.
5,000 days divided by 365 days per year is 5,000 days divided by 365 days per year equals 13.7 years.
So, Cleveland County tax payers, YOU owe ME dinner every day for the next 13.7 years for my simple cost savings ideas.
But, never mind. A simple thank you would be sufficient. That thank you would be fulfilled by voters showing up on Election day 2020 and throwing the wasteful Commissioners and wasteful School Board members out of office. The wasted money saved in one year’s time would pay for many meals for all of us. Or, say, one house payment. One car payment maybe. A big break for every taxpayer. Pure and simple.
Wasted money is just that, wasted money for the purpose the money was supposed to be used for. But wasted money goes somewhere. Into somebody’s pockets. Which is a perfect opportunity for corruption and kickbacks. And waste and especially corruption should be cut-out entirely. Or, at least minimized. And the only way to ever do that is get rid of the wasters on the County Commissioners and School Board too.
For your convenience, I will name the wasters up for re-election in 2020:
Wasteful Commissioners:
Susan Allen, Ronnie Whetstine, Johnny Hutchins
Wasteful School Board Members:
Shearra Miller, Jo Boggs, Roger Harris, Richard Hooker, Jeff Jones
Voters; in the 2020 Elections, just throw these bums out of office. And, let’s go from there.
