Folks, anytime any CC agency goes into Closed Session for Two plus Hours for the purpose of consulting the County’s Attorneys you can bet something big AND BAD is going on. And likely embarrassing to the bone for somebody. This extra, extra, extra-long Closed Session at the August 1, 2023 Commissioner’s meeting is bound to be no exception.
Especially telling is the write-up in the August 1, 2023 Commissioner’s Meeting Minutes. Telling in what is included in the minutes and also telling in what is NOT included in the minutes. The Draft minutes include a very wordy description of why the Commissioners are going into Closed Session. All they have to do, and all they usually do is give the particular NC General Statute that defines the only items that a Board can go into closes session for. The Draft Minutes for the August 1, 2023 Meeting goes on and on about closed sessions. The quote the Statute and then throw in the Kitchen Sink about going into a Closed session to discuss personnel matters including disciplinary actions. As much as this present Board of Commissioners (Kevin Gordon, Ronnie Whetstine, Johnny Hutchins, Deb Hardin, and Doug Bridges) loves to cover up the messes going on in County Government when they include disciplinary actions as something that MIGHT be going on, you can bet something bad IS going on. And, they are terrified that the news will get out. And they are double and triple terrified that Robert A will find out and tell the public what is going on. Like the Midpines Recycling Center scandal. An inside swindle in the making.
Presently Robert A doesn’t have a clue about the “Who” that is in county government and in big trouble. But, when he read over the Agenda for tonight’s Commissioner’s meeting and read the false, phony, and deceptive Minutes entries about what Robert A stated during Citizens Comment and during an Economic Development Public Hearing, Robert A quickly understood that something rotten is going on and the Commissioners are full speed ahead in their cover-up mode. And desperately trying to divert Robert A’s attention elsewhere
