Editor’s Note: Over the years Robert A has not written much about political shenanigans and potential corruption in and around the City of Kings Mountain. Other than the Catawba Casino, the related Margrace Road Convenience site shutdown and down grade and the Nitwit KM decision to buy 100% of KM Electrical Power from NTE Instead of Duke Power, Robert A has been pretty much silent. But, as one would say in the Nuclear business, the instances of real and potential corruption in and around the City of Kings Mountain has slowly increased until it has reached a “Critical Mass!” And, the big explosion is about to commence.
Robert A has accumulated a list of various things that appear to need looking into. Some appear to be small. Like:
- Certain people keeping chickens. MORE than three chickens in housing developments where deed restrictions limit on site chickens to three. And the proper authorities do nothing to enforce the deed restrictions. Even when reports are made.
- The newest KM Mayor being browbeaten at the Casino Opening celebration to shut up about things the new mayor had concerns about. For the new Mayor to go along to get along with the Catawba Indian plans for the business, Casino construction and operations. Robert Atook such statements made by the Catawba’s and their supporters as bullying. That the KM Mayor MUST sit down and shut up about all things. Perhaps including Prostitution, sex trafficking and other such things that seem to always show up around Casino operations.
- The new KM Mayor’s wife getting into a Facebook Cat-Fight with the wife of a business owner over the Mayor and Wife attending one NEW business OPEN HOUSE celebration and not attending another NEW business OPEN HOUSE Celebration.
- The Now Kings Mountain Mayors wife being banned from Emceeing at the latest American Legion World Series games in Shelby and being replaced with Eddie Holbrook, Tim Moore and Kevin Gordon.
Then, there are bigger items. Such as:
- The recent smelly resignation of KM City Councilman David Allen.
- The KM City Council planning to allow the City Manager’s Contract to expire so they can replace the Present City Manager, who had asked for his pay to be allegedly based on some sort of kickback scheme with the Albemarle Company.
Then, there are yet larger Issues such as:
- The new Mayor appointing his busy-body wife to head up the Kings Mountain Housing Authority.
- The Kings Mountain Housing Authority books are allegedly missing $1.8 Million Dollars
- Albemarle allegedly wants the City of Kings Mountain’s ETJ (Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction) reduced from 2 miles to 1 mile. And, ultimately REDUCED TO zero. Allegedly Tim More, Ted Alexander, the CC Commissioners and perhaps others are working diligently (and silently) to assist Albemarle accomplish this goal by changing State Laws in Raleigh. And, not telling anybody until it is done.
- The recently discovery of the exceedingly poor performance of Kings Mountain’s Elementary Schools and the associated lies and deceptions are all certainly important issues for Kings Mountain and all of Cleveland County.
- Let’s not forget Project South.
- Or, the Cleveland County Women Republicans of Cleveland County and the CCGOP. Their baking pies and cakes for the Waco Volunteer Fire Department’s BBQ fundraisers also smells of corruption and mis-management. The devil is always in the details. As is the cash direction, flow and recipients of the funding always determines whether or not this practice is legal and ethical. Or NOT!!!
Folks, The Holiday Season is upon us. So, don’t expect Robert A to drop everything else, everywhere else. But, as the holiday spirit fades away into 2025, WATCH OUT KINGS MOUNTAIN. And thereabouts, ROBERT A et al WILL BE WATCHING YOU.
