Who is the most Patriotic Citizen in Cleveland County??? And how do you measure such a thing??? Let’s have a contest!!! Robert A. will put up a crisp NEW $100 bill to the first person that wins this contest!!!
The rules are SIMPLE!!
Since a person’s voting record is a good indication that the person who votes most often is more Patriotic than the person that does NOT vote so often, And the Cleveland County Board of Elections keeps a record of a person’s voting history back to at least 1990.
- The first rule will be that this voting contest begins with the Primary Elections AND, General Elections that includes National, North Carolina and County Wide Elections held in in 1990. Note that municipal elections will not be counted as they are not county wide. School Board Elections will also NOT be counted as they were first held only in Odd number years and later held in even numbered years, as well the School Merger issue. Making this too difficult to count as this contest and associated voting rules have changed and this contest intends to be simple.
- Early Voting also has come into being after 1990. As this contest intends to be simple, while also remain mindful that the most Patriotic CC Citizens People will not take the easy way out by voting early or by voting absentee. The Second Rule will be that only In-Person voting on ELECTION DAY will count in this contest. Also, the Board of Election has made the effort to keep records that show whether or not a person votes in person on election day or not. If the NC Board of Elections has decided that Voting in Person on Election Day is somehow Patriotic enough to keep track of, we will do the same here in this contest.
In short, the two rulers in this contest are:
- The Start Date for this Contest begins in 1990.
- Only In-Person on Election Daysvoting counts in the tabulation

Already Scored 100% in this contest that started in 1990. However, Robert A first voted in 1968 when he was first eligible to vote at 21 years of age. Back then, there was no early voting. And from 1968 until the present, Robert A has voted in every Primary and General Election ever since. Although, not always in North Carolina and not always in Cleveland County, NC. So, Robert A is right now declaring himself the Most Patriotic Person in Cleveland County since 1990. And Robert A. WINS the First Prize.
But, to be fair, Folks, Robert A is offering that crisp, new $100 bill Reward to the SECOND Cleveland County CITIZEN who has voted in Every Cleveland County Primary, Second Primary, and General Elections-On ELECTION DAY-since 1990!!! Or, the higher score otherwise.
