According to the CC Commissioners recent Press Release published in the Shelby Star, as well as the Commissioner’s ordering up the Political Smackdown cast of has-beens to join in on the shameless and knowingly false propaganda that the Commissioners have done a good thing for Cleveland County in their last Friday’s broadcast, the so-called Dedication Ceremony for the Justice Center will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, May 21, 2024. According to the Press Release, a tour of the Justice Center will begin at 3 PM and the Dedication Ceremony at 4 M. All scheduled on a workday and during working hours. Robert A expects pretty close to ZERO regular CC Citizens to be in attendance as they will be on their jobs working hard to pay their ever-increasing bills. But a large crowd of CC County paid employees, Contractor Big-Wigs and others who will make big bucks off the CC Taxpayers will be assembled up close for a group picture that will be published in the Shelby Star the next day or so under the phony heading that a large segment of the public was in attendance. Hey, that’s what they always do!!
Robert A was in Shelby this past Saturday afternoon; and, like he has done very often this past year, swung on by the Justice Center Project to get a measure on the progress, or lack thereof, for the past year. Many progress reports were published which basically concluded that Cleveland County’s wild spending on a hit and miss oversite of the project that has broken CC County’s finances. On one occasion as Robert A walked all the way around the fenced in project, thi8s past summer, he observed some strange activity. The overall work had stopped except for one spot where a concrete lid was being lowed on top of a drain standpipe by only two workmen. And two very small Bobcat sized vehicles were busy moving all around the bone-dry worksite raising clouds of red dust. Robert A stopped and watched these small-sized equipment pieces operate for about 20 minutes to see just what was their purpose. During this time the little scoops on these pieces of equipment dug up no dirt or hauled not one ounce of load. Soon, it was obvious what these workers had been ordered to do. Their job orders were simply to raise as much clouds of dust as possible so the traffic travelling down Patton Drive would think there was some real construction activity going on. A “smoke screen” only with raised dust clouds. Robert A, as a taxpayer himself, was NOT impressed by the lies and deceptions the CC Commissioners were engaging in to hide from the public what was actually going on with the out of control Justice Center Project. The largest and most expensive county run project in CC History. Run by a bunch of Clowns who basically accomplished NOTHING for a full year.
What Robert A’s found this past Saturday was the Justice Center construction site is in about in the same condition it has been in for the past year. A big muddy hill and water filled holes when it rains and a dusty no-man’s land when it is hot and dry. The only thing that is obvious different now is the fencing all around the block has been covered with blue plastic, with advertising every now and then, Obviously to stop the public that happens to drive by or walk around the entire perimeter as Robert A has done many times from seeing anything about the Justice Center Project that the “Yea-sayers” and “tax dollar squanderers” seem to be so proud of. To the point of ignoring the complete lack of fiscal responsibility and transparency by the Cleveland County Commissioners: Kevin Gordon, Deb Hardin, Johnny Hutchins, Doug Bridges and Ronnie Whetstine.
But, hey, folks. Robert A will attend the so-called Dedication Ceremony tomorrow with an open mind as well as OPEN EYES and OPEN EARS. And his uncanny ability to smell a rat when there are plenty of rats there to smell.
