To the great citizens of Cleveland County:
I would like to announce my intent to run for the Cleveland County school board in the Republican primary. I believe I can be a strong member that will take the opinions of ALL citizens of Cleveland County to heart.
I will follow up within 24 hours on any issues brought to my attention.
I believe in strong schools and not overcrowded schools.
I believe it’s time for the board to be Dr. Fisher’s boss and not the other way around.
A lot of promises were made by the five board members up for re-election that were not kept. Know that if I say I’m going to do something, I’m going to do it. I will be a strong member for EVERY student, teacher, cafeteria worker, bus driver, maintenance employee and custodian in the school system.
As a member of your tax paid school board, my door will always be open with no fear of retaliation.
Your taxes need to be spent wisely and efficiently.
I’m ready on the first meeting to bring back all transparency to the public.
It’s time for the power to be with the students, parents, citizens and employees of CCS and not with members just wanting power.

I would appreciate your support and your vote. I will answer any questions thru phone call or text. We can do better for Cleveland County and I’m ready to help the members who are fighting for a better future.

Thank you all for your friendship and love. Now let’s go make our future bright with an excellent school system.

Matthew Canipe

Editor’s Note: In other discussions with Mr. Matthew Canipe, Matthew indicated he would also do what is necessary to eliminate bullying and retaliation from CCS Schools. Not only bullying amongst the children, but bullying and retaliation by the CCS administration against teachers and staff that try to speak out about problems and issues that need high level CCS leadership’s attention. Five new School Board Members like Mr. Canipe will bring about immediate changes for the good at Cleveland County Schools. In the past, Mr. Matthew Canipe has always stood up for what is right and proper under all circumstances. It is a sure thing that this is what Mr. Matthew Canipe will do as a duly elected CCS School Board member.
