There is an old saying, held as 100% truth according to many, that “Where there is smoke, there is fire.” Robert A does NOT hold this saying as 100% true because he has seen in his lifetime of experiences that this so called “Smoke” can be and sometimes is completely false, manufactured and made-up by those with evil and malicious intentions.
However, sometimes, actually often, no matter how off the wall the gossip may be, the gossip may actually be true. And depending on the circumstances, the gossip reports have to be checked out and the truth of the matter found and acted upon as appropriate. This is one of those times. Several times over.
This article was sparked by an anonymous letter. This particular anonymous letter with no return address on the envelope and no signature or name inside was postmarked February 10, 2023, delivered to Robert A’s Fallston Post Office box and picked up a few days later. This happens on a regular basis and the anonymous information inside the envelope often turns out to have some truth to it. Sometimes it is 100% true.
This is the “gossip” message and exactly what it said.
“Rodney Fitch, Member of the Cleveland County School Board and Major with the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, in charge of the Detention Center puts the jail on auto pilot every morning he goes to play pickleball with his new girlfriend.
Fitch’s wife has filed for divorce, after finding out he is having a romantic affair with his pickleball partner.
Fitch has had to move out of his home because of his affair. Detention Officers have claimed that they have never met Fitch since they started working in the jail.”
Other gossip reports received by Robert A in the past have indicated Rodney Fitch had a girlfriend in the Detention Center. A woman who lived in another county and received a speeding ticket and a DWI from the Shelby Police Department. Could this be the “old” girlfriend who might be angry about this “new” girlfriend (or the wife) who sent Robert A this anonymous letter.
Other gossip reports going around now say that Rodney Fitch is presently living in a camping trailer since he was allegedly kicked out of his home by his wife.
Another damaging aspect about these gossip reports is the fact that Cleveland County Governmental agencies are well known tor their cover-up. Cover-ups that typically manifest themselves by silence. A dead and complete silence about things that officials refuse to investigate of even to look into.
Also, Rodney Fitch is the Head of the CCS School Board Safety Committee that is (poorly) overseeing preventing Bullying and appropriately punishing the Bully-err. An assignment that CCS has totally failed at. One family recently talked to Robert A stating that their child gets bullied EVERY DAY and CCS won’t do anything about it. This is a complaint that is mostly ignored by the Robert Queen faction on the School Board; although school board policy as well as the Student Code of Conduct clearly spells out what is to be done in great detail regarding bullying. Only the CCS School Board and Staff refuse to follow those policies. School Board Vice-Chairman Joel Shores even stated at the February 13, 2023 School Board meeting (fiasco) that HIS focus was on helping the person doing the bullying, not the person being bullied.
The bottom line with this article is this: Rodney Fitch is in key positions at both the CCS School Board and the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office. Rodney Fitch has to be a RESPONSIBLE person at all times. CCS Schools are failing and the Cleveland County Jail appears to be failing too. Lawsuits have plagued and are still plaguing Cleveland County Schools. Cleveland County has had to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to settle Jail related lawsuits in recent days. But, according to gossip, Rodney Fitch is in deep trouble with his wife and at least one of his girlfriends. Therefore, these gossip reports HAVE to be investigated. Neither the School Board nor the Sheriff’s Office can afford a leader that is going through a second adolescence. Or an uncontrolled mid-life crisis.
Mr. Rodney Fitch; if these gossip reports are false, please explain the truth with some kind of proof and we will print every word with our sincere apologies. If these gossip reports are true, please resign from the School Board immediately. If not sooner. As for the Detention Center reports, we expect Sheriff Alan Norman to do whatever is right and proper under these circumstances.
