Robert A. is about to enlighten the Cleveland County Commissioners, (who oversee the Cleveland County DSS), the Cleveland County DSS Advisory Board and Cleveland County DSS Leadership about what is surely coming THEIR way.

First, the phony documents Cherokee and Cleveland County have both used to illegally take children away from parents. A practice that has already cost Cherokee County $Million$ in jury awards. With many, many more $Million$ on the way. Something that Cleveland County has so far been able to scare parents away from-A DAY IN COURT.

Now, Bertie County DSS is being taken over “Temporarily” by the State Department of Health and Human Sources. The State DHHS has issued a Press Release that says in part that:

NCDHHS initiated a review of child welfare services in Bertie County after learning of serious concerns around its practice, delivery and administration of child welfare services. Subsequent information gathered during NCDHHS’ communication with Bertie County DSS leadership and staff, case and record reviews and on-site visits revealed a systemic lack of adequate training, SUPERVISION and capacity to deliver appropriate child welfare services in accordance with law, rule and policy.

Notice that Robert A. has underlined and bolded certain parts of the DHHS Press Release for YOUR (Cleveland County Commissioners) attention.

Robert A. predicts that IF the State DHHS (or even the Cleveland County District Attorney) would do the same kind of investigation right here in Cleveland County, somebody might even go to prison.

Anyway, folks, here is the Full Press DHHS Release for your review. See if YOU smell the same rat that I do!! Notice this Press release came out yesterday!!

NC DHHS Statement on Bertie County Department of Social Services
Raleigh
May 13, 2022
Effective Monday, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services will temporarily assume leadership of child welfare services at the Bertie County Department of Social Services, as authorized under state law.
Bertie County and Bertie County Department of Social Services leadership are aware and have expressed support of this temporary action.
“Supporting the well-being of children and their families is a top priority for the department, and we take seriously our role in helping children grow up in safe, loving, permanent homes,” said NCDHHS Secretary Kody H. Kinsley. “Taking this urgent, temporary action will help us work collaboratively with Bertie County leadership to strengthen the county’s ability to deliver child welfare services.”
“We have a responsibility to make sure that children in Bertie County are safe and healthy,” said Bertie County Manager Juan Vaughan II. “Given the critical work performed by child welfare services, we agree that this temporary action is urgent and necessary, and we look forward to working together with NCDHHS to strengthen our work with vulnerable children and families.”
NCDHHS staff will be on site at the Bertie County Department of Social Services during this interim period and will work closely with staff to manage and stabilize child welfare services as well as develop a plan to bring it into compliance with all applicable laws and appropriate practices. This temporary action is authorized under N.C.G.S. § 108A-74.

Another Robert A. question:
“Where was the NC DHHS, the Bertie County DSS Board as well as the Bertie County Commissioners when all this mess was taking place???”

Robert A. believes they were all looking the other way until a big lawsuit against them was filed in State Court. Or maybe Federal Court. Lawsuits seem to be about the only thing that gets this County Government/DSS crowd to doing anything. And Cleveland County is as bad or worse than anybody anywhere.
