3. On October 15, 2019. Almost immediately Tamara Fuller responds to Mr. Greens second message-calling the general community to come together and make changes:
Really???
During the Q and A forum last night it was stated that “Soccer is becoming the growing sport and Shelby has benefited from having spent $8 million building Hanna Park” Mayor Anthony and Councilman David Causby’s answer is for our kids to use the Rail Trails, when they are built, and start playing soccer at Hanna Park. Surely he doesn’t know our kids!! And needless to say, when the “Mayor’s name is mentioned, no one knows who he is either. Football and Basketball is just as important to just as many kids. Not all kids have transportation to get to Hanna Park and the only sport activity they can play at Hannah Park is soccer. So, where does that leave the “other” kids?? Their answer was “They can go to the YMCA and City Park”. Open your eyes people and see what really is going on! It does not take a genius to figure it out!
The Shelby Parks and Recreation closes at 5 or 5:30 pm. During the summer they have summer camp. So, when does a kid have an opportunity to go there? The YMCA is not free nor is it affordable for a lot of people. We need someone in place that cares about ALL people, not just a certain sector. It should not matter who makes things happen. If the city does not want to create opportunity for everyone then they should not block someone who does. We have someone that wants to cater to ALL people and build a center, that is community focused and would generate great economic impact for this county.
It is not hard to see what the issue is. People do what they do because they are allowed to and no one is calling them out on it. Let’s help with this endeavor by being a voice and fighting for change in our community. If we all think that there is no use then nothing will happen. Let’s join forces and fight for the youth in Cleveland County.
4. This very day, October 16, 2019, Emanuel Hunt, Jr, speaks out LOUDLY to say that many so-called minority Community leaders “were installed to deceive and CONTROL the minority masses.”
Willie, in response to your query, I see no reason for lack of support for your project(s) from our pastors/community leaders. Having spent the bulk of my professional life in a large, progressive city (Atlanta), I can only speculate about the dynamics of a small, not so progressive town. In the former, the need/cause trumps insecurities, pet peeves, prejudice, hidden agendas, political correctness, and above all – FEAR. It frustrates me also to see our advancements and strides of ’60’s surrendered for the aforementioned reasons.
Having been CEO of an award-winning non-profit, Midnight Basketball League of Atlanta, Inc., my thoughts are that the local minority leaders are such because they have been assessed and known to be reticent/ non troublesome ALLIES to the powers that be. These so-called leaders represent themselves to be community minded but are in reality SELF-MINDED. They were installed to deceive and CONTROL the minority masses.
Keep pushing and don’t give up!! RIGHT will prevail and I see NO wrong in your ambition.
Emanuel Hunt, Jr.
