What the Shelby Star Left Out in reporting McHenry Townhall !!!! –Sheriff Norman Should Switch to Republican!!??– –Report and evaluation by Robert A. Williams

Congressman Patrick McHenry held a Townhall Meeting last night at Cleveland Community College that Democrat Organizations bent on disruption had targeted. People from as far away as Concord (that I know of) were encouraged to come out and vent and spew their agenda at McHenry's Townhall Meetings as well as other Republican Congressmen. For months now, we've been holding elected officials accountable for the decisions they're making in Washington. Congressional leaders have failed on their disastrous repeal bill for now, and that's because people like you showed up to events like this town hall. We have to keep the pressure up on all of our elected officials. Going to a town hall near you is a powerful way to make your voice heard -- I hope you can make it this week. It a detail plan on how Democrats want to hijack Republican elected officials Townhall meetings to influence the public with a barrage of lies and propaganda. Remember the Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin's first rule of Propaganda. "Tell lies, big and often. People will believe at least some of it." Some Cleveland County groups and politicians have adopted that same tactic and election year strategy. Of course bringing out protesters to mingle in with the Democrat crowd is often included in these tactics, but not advertised. Sheriff Alan Norman had that covered for this particular Townhall. Uniformed officers and metal detectors screened everybody attending. Other Officers mingled in the crowd for extra protection. It was obvious that violence would NOT be allowed or tolerated at THIS Townhall. Perhaps the officials in Charlottesville, VA, Durham, NC and other places should have taken this approach. All this was going on even before the Townhall meeting even started and not a peep from the Star about this. There is more. Not a peep from the Star about Kathy Falls' statements and questions to McHenry. Kathy Falls sat in the back, but when it was time to ask questions she rushed to the front and got in front of the line. Kathy Falls complained about having to get up some petitions because she was registered as Unaffiliated. "Nobody should have to get petitions to run for office" said Falls and asked McHenry what he could do about it. That was a dumb question and showed exactly why Kathy Falls should never be elected to the School Board. McHenry stated there was nothing he could do for Falls, short of amending the Constitution. McHenry went on to explain that the Constitution did not allow the US Government to regulate how elections were conducted, that was delegated to the States. (The 8th Amendment states "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States, respectively, or to the people." Ratified in 1791, the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution embodies the general principles of Federalism in a republican form of government.) And Kathy Falls is a member of the Cleveland County School Board and an elected official and doesn't know this. Everybody in the place immediately knew Kathy Falls was a ding-bat and voters should send her home on Election Day. Kathy Falls is also obviously selfish (only interested in herself), lazy (doesn't want to work on getting the petition signatures that North Carolina law requires) and unconcerned (She left as soon as she got the answer that she did not want.) The Star did not report anything about Kathy Falls or Danny Blanton. School Board member Danny Blanton also had a question for McHenry. Blanton told McHenry that meals served to school kids, as ordered by Federal guidelines for meals, on very many occasions got dumped in the trashcan because the kids wouldn't eat it, even when they were hungry. This was certainly not a selfish question like from Kathy Falls from Danny Blanton, but a real concern about child nutrition. Blanton also asked about Federal guidelines about school bus routes that was causing young children to have to walk excessive distances to pick up the school bus. McHenry said he believes these rules should be turned over to the State, would look into these issues. (Some discussion with Danny Blanton and Robert Queen after the meeting indicated that they would consider the option to quit taking Federal money and get rid of the Federal Rules that are causing more harm than good. (At the TEA Party Forum the next night it came out that for the 10.4% of school revenue from the Federal Government it cost 35% of school spending to keep track with complying with the Federal Rules. Folks, do the math. It is obvious that kicking the Federals out of our schools by refusing to take their money is actually much cheaper for the schools and the extra money could be redirected to the classroom to provide a better education for our children. So, why has the School Board not already done this? The answer is obvious, taking Federal money requires hiring many people to do Federal paperwork. Bureaucrats love hiring more people. That is how they operate. So, the answer is obvious, Re-elect Danny Blanton. And elect Robert Queen, Kevin Whisnant and Rodney Fitch to the School Board on Election Day!! Then there was the obvious anti-Trump Democrat who told McHenry that all the medical profession in the country had determined that President Trump was mentally incapacitated and should be impeached. McHenry basically, but nicely, sent him away mad. Nothing in the Star about that. Parts of the Charlottesville, VA Confederate Monument protest controversy the Star never mentioned was this woman asked McHenry what could be done to take the Constitutional Rights away from the "Hate" protesters. McHenry did not "bite" on that Democrat question but said issuing permits and providing better police protection should have been done in Charlottesville. Several persons questioned the National Debt and as well as saying many Countries do better than US in controlling their debt (and some do worse.) McHenry agreed and called the National Debt a "fiscal bomb." Also, regulation had to change, big banks were a problem, questioned a Central Bank and suggested going back on the Gold Standard. Said lots of work was necessary in entitlements, especially Medicaid. Not a peep from the Star. Questions about Healthcare. McHenry says ObamaCare has got to go and Congress (not President Trump) has to find the way to do it. McHenry said he favored repealing ObamaCare and starting all over with a program-same as Trump. Another question was "What bills have YOU introduced in Washington?" McHenry said Eight bills and described them. One bill was illegal immigrants could not file for tax credits. You have to wonder why McHenry or anybody else had to introduce such a law. Obama or Hillary Clinton would have vetoed such a bill. Another question asked McHenry if he benefited financially from the grass cutting contract over all of North Carolina that his dad's company had gotten. McHenry stated there are no statewide grass cutting contracts, his brother runs the grass cutting company that his dad started and he had no financial association with the company. Lots of stuff was not covered by the Star. I hope this information gives you a better insight into what went on at Patrick McHenry's Townhall meeting earlier in the week. One thing that I believe McHenry is wrong about was his excessive concerns with the Charlottesville, VA violence and the so called "hate groups." Passing laws that call crimes "hate crimes" are wrong I believe. As are calling groups "hate groups." The problem is who gets to define "hate." Many would say the "Antifa" (Pronounced An-tee-fah and short for anti-fascist) group of counter-protesters at Charlottesville is also a hate group. It certainly appears the KKK, and other associated groups had legal permits to have a protest march and a Federal Judge said so. It appears the counter-protesters did not have legal permits and should have been run off or arrested by the Charlottesville police right from the start. Next we will have "Love crimes" or "love Groups" and who defines "love?" Many say Christians are "haters" because they read the Bible" which is full of Hate. I say we should pass and enforce equally laws that just define crimes, like murder, rape, burglary, etc. and leave divisive terms like "hate," etc. out of it. And whoever violates the law should be arrested and prosecuted without concern of their beliefs or political party or who they supported for President.
