The Cleveland County Commissioners, under the direct control of Chairman Kevin Gordon, and acolyte Commissioners Johnny Hutchins, Deb Hardin and Doug Bridges at the April 15, 2025 Commissioners Meeting voted (4-1) to adopt two<\/u>\u00a0brand new, totally controversial un-Connotational County Ordinances that creates a Gestapo-Like<\/b><\/u><\/strong>\u00a0Power to \u201cshove\u201d their way into private residences and private property to \u201cInspect\u201d for Health Hazards and Building Code Violations.\u00a0Such violations include un-mowed grass, worn-out boats and cars, trash, old lawnmowers, dilapidated out-buildings, trailers and other such things.<\/p>\n

Note that Commissioner Tony Berry<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0correctly and bravely<\/b><\/u><\/strong>\u00a0voted NO<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in this matter. And Commissioner Tony Berry<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0has instantly become the People\u2019s HERO<\/b><\/u><\/strong>\u00a0on The CC Board of Commissioners.<\/p>\n

News about these Rogue Republican CC Commissioner\u2019s \u201cPower-grabbing\u201d set of Ordnances is running rampant throughout Cleveland County and legal actions are promised. Both of these poorly thought out and oppressive Ordnances contain words such as this:<\/p>\n

Whenever it is necessary to make an inspection in the course of an investigation required by this article, <\/b><\/strong>an agent designated by the county manager is hereby empowered to enter<\/b><\/u><\/strong>, at any reasonable time, upon property where there is reasonable cause to believe a violation <\/b><\/strong>exists to inspect the same, but only if the consent of the person in possession of the premises is <\/b><\/strong>freely given <\/b><\/strong>or a search warrant is obtained as hereinafter provided.<\/b><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Folks, it was after midnight on April 15, 2025 when Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0received Notice of this April 15, 2025 Commissioner\u2019s Meeting. But, for some reason, believed it was important to look through the meeting agenda to look for \u201chidden\u201d issues of high public interest. The meeting agenda turned out to be rather bland except for the Public Hearing<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0on TWO brand new County Ordinances that were set to be voted on only a few hours later.<\/p>\n

Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0immediately \u201csmelled a RAT<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u201d and \u201copened the link to the Ordinances and read both ordinances. Immediately knowing that Hell\u2019s Fire<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was about to descend upon Cleveland County.<\/p>\n

Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0also immediately changed his MO. Instead of attending this April 15, 2025 CC Commissioner\u2019s Meeting and signing up to speak out in the Public Hearing against these two Un-Constitutional County Ordinances and totally embarrass Kevin Gordon and his three stooges (Johnny Hutchins, Deb Hardin and Doug Bridges), Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0would simply stay at home and silently watch the meeting video. Let the dumb-ass<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0CC Commissioners vote to approve such stupidity without allowing the Dunderhead Commissioners to somehow claim that Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u2019s<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0simple prescience had somehow caused them to do something stupid.<\/p>\n

Besides, Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was keenly interested in how newly elected Commissioner Tony Berry would vote on this clearly stupid, unconstitutional, oppressive and politically stupid set of Ordinances. Also, Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was highly interested in whether or not anybody ELSE<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0would show-up and speak-out against the incredibly stupid set of County Ordinances. Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was glad to see that others had the \u201cgumption\u201d to speak out against this obviously stupid and un-Constitutional processes that the Commissioners were about to unleash on the citizens of Cleveland County. Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was NOT surprised that the Commissioner Majority (Kevin Gordon, Johnny Hutchins, Deb Hardin and Doug Bridges voted to Approve the obviously unconstitutional ordinances. Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was pleasantly surprised that Two of the three speakers presented very clear and cogent arguments AGAINST these unconstitutional set of Ordinances. Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was not surprised, but disappointed that the Cleveland County Republican Party representative stood up and supported these Un-Constitutional and colossally stupid and oppressive set of un-Constitutional CC Ordinances,<\/p>\n

And, Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was totally impressed that Commissioner Tony Berry<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0would stand up, speak out and properly voted against the stupid majority when such a need would arise. Kudos go to Commissioner Tony Berry<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>. And hopefully many more to come.<\/p>\n

But, folks, this is not the END of this silly and stupid thing that the CC Commissioners have set out to do. This is an action that will negatively affect every property owner, taxpayer and resident in Cleveland County. Sooner than later. This is the Beginning of an awakening that Cleveland County is run by a set of crooks and liars who would cheat citizens of their Constitutional Rights to be secure in their very own homes and property. It is said that some folks, even CC Employees, are wondering why Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0did not come out and support their cause. Not knowing that Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0had decided that THEY<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0were going to have to start acting in their own best interest for a change.<\/p>\n

And, for a start in that direction, Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is providing a true copy of both of these Un-Constitutional Ordinances for everybody to read for themselves. Folks, Knowledge is Power! YOU citizens will be called upon to do what is necessary to overturn these Un-Constitutional actions by the \u201cPhony\u201d CC Commissioners Kevin Gordon, Johnny Hutchins, Deb Hardin and Doug Bridges.<\/p>\n

And the first thing YOU<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0must do is read these Un-Constitutional Ordinances for yourself. Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is providing them to YOU<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0on a silver platter. And, Stay tuned for other information that Robert A<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is collecting to support YOUR personal knowledge of the corruption that is going on right here in Cleveland County, North Carolina.<\/p>\n
