\tEditor\u2019s Note: Right about now it appears that this latest of the many failed investigations into the Valentine\u2019s Day, 2000 disappearance of 9-year-old Asha Degree began as a \u201cpublicity stunt\u201d and is about to end-up as a libelous public relations disaster. And, probably may lead to a several lawsuits against the overzealous law enforcement agencies. And the greedy Shelby Star, who likely were only looking to make money at the expense of innocent people.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\tAfter 24 years of periodic so-called \u201cbreaks\u201d in this Asha Degree case that quickly turned into dead ends. A missing person case that has baffled Law Enforcement at every level, whose resolution would be good news for the FBI, the NC SBI and the CC Sheriff\u2019s Office. It goes like this;<\/p>\n

1.The FBI High-Level phony leadership; after their years long disastrous Russian Hoax allegations against President Donald Trump turned out to be false. Plus, their disastrous investigation of the Trump assassination attempt regarding the huge lapses in Secret Service Protection. The FBI AND the Secret Service are certainly craving some good news right about now-before the 2024 Elections. Like solving a 24-year-old investigation from anywhere. Anything politically \u201cgood news\u201d to stave off them being fired when President Trump wins the 2024 Presidential Election<\/p>\n

2.The NC SBI, under NC Attorney General Josh Stein and Governor Roy Cooper before him have presided over 24 years of failure in the Asha Degree disappearance. Now Josh Stine is running for Governor against Mark Robinson in a very tight race. It is certain that the ever-pompous Governor Candidate Josh Stein would give his right \u201cnut\u201d to be able to claim that his SBI, under his leadership, had solved the highly publicized Asha Degree disappearance mystery and gotten some kind of conviction. No matter how many Constitutional violations, planting of evidence and jury tampering incidents Josh Stein and his SBI had to make.<\/p>\n

3.The Cleveland County Sheriff\u2019s Office, under former Sheriff Dan Crawford, started this FUBAR of an investigation when Sheriff Crawford FIRED his initial Asha Degree Disappearance Investigator (Officer Wayne Thomas) for political purposes. (Of all things, Sheriff Dan Crawford himself stated in an official record that he believed Officer Wayne Thomas was reading Robert A\u2019s print editions of Citizens For Good Government and going back to the CC Sheriff\u2019s Office and feeding information to the \u201cElect Raymond Hamrick for Sheriff\u201d Political Committee. When, in all likelihood, the entire Sheriff\u2019s Office personnel were already reading Robert A\u2019s articles for themselves. In any event, Sheriff Dan Crawford fired his initial Asha Degree Investigator and took other retaliatory actions that had the whole Sheriff\u2019s Office in a high state of continuous turmoil. Sheriff Crawford lost his run for re-election to Sheriff to Raymond Hamrick and the Asha Degree investigation is now in its 24th year. Now Sheriff Alan Norman is the Sheriff of Cleveland County, has changed his political party to Republican and has been said to be considering a run for a higher political office. Solving the Asha Degree case would certainly be a \u201cfeather\u201d in Sheriff Alan Norman\u2019s political cap, if only to finally end his political career on high note.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But, as it stands right now, this \u201cSeptember Surprise\u201d of a much too highly visible of an investigation\/search: using ground penetrating radar, a \u201cCrime Scene\u201d van with its 30 ft. raised mast antenna, tons of marked law enforcement cars and other vehicles, and tee shirts and such, has turned up with only an old beat-up green car that was only \u201cclose\u201d to being a match to a 24 year old glimpse of a vehicle allegedly observed in a rainstorm in the darkest of the night in 2000. And no trace of the missing Asha Degree and much of anything else has been disclosed as found. And plenty of TV news coverage that showed nothing of consequence except an obvious attempt to gain publicity for Law Enforcement and ensure that a Jury will be fully biased against anybody who might be accused of any sort of a crime they might come up with.
\n\tAs yet there have been no arrests, only a too thin of an implication against a well-thought-of member(s) of a well-respected Cleveland County family who have since hired a top-notch CC lawyer who may have his eyes set on a big lawsuit against the various law enforcement agencies as well as the libelous Facebook false rumor mongers. AND, MAYBE the Shelby Star too?<\/p>\n

\tFolks, the false, libelous, slanderous and just plain mean rumors, Facebook posts set of by this phony show of law enforcement attention to a 24-year-old possible crime has been especially mean and hard-hearted regarding Roy Lee Dedmon and his family. Mr. Dedmon was falsely reported as committing suicide after his FBI interview. A False Obituary was created and posted that accused a \u201cdead\u201d Mr. Dedmon as being an old- time segregationist who hated black people. Then Mrs. Dedmon (Connie) was falsely stated to also have also committed suicide. All false. Even Mrs. Dedmon\u2019s brother, Pastor Nicholas (Nick)\u201d Scott Elliott, a well-respected Christian Pastor in Shelby and Greeneville, South Carolina, who passed away this past April, was stated to have had a \u201cDeath-Bed Confession\u201d that has been alleged to have started this present day fiasco of a \u201dWitch Hunt\u201d investigation.<\/p>\n

\tFolks, Nick Elliott was a childhood friend of Robert A. Nick\u2019s Grandfather Elliott lived directly across the street from Robert A on Beam Street in Fallston. When Nick\u2019s parents would come to visit Grandpa and Grand Ma, Nick and Robert A would play all over Beam Street and the surrounding creeks, woods and fields while Nick\u2019s sister Connie would play with Robert A\u2019s younger sisters. When Nick Elliott passed away this past April, Robert A sadly read every word of Nick Elliott\u2019s Obituary. As well as other related accolades regarding Nick Elliott\u2019s service to the Lord and his Ministry in Greeneville, SC. Robert A truly believes Nick Elliott had no deep and dark secrets that he had to confess to on his deathbed. This all was just made up vicious stuff from warped minds that were set off by the Law Enforcement establishment at every level creating evil thoughts in the minds of evil people. People that need a large lawsuit lesson in Superior Court for their false and libelous statements. Also, the Asha Degree family has urged all these liars to stop their false and phony Facebook communications that do nothing but unnecessarily hurt innocent people,<\/p>\n

Now, Mr. Roy Lee Dedmon has hired Shelby Attorney David Teddy to represent him and his family in this matter. <\/p>\n

The following is the full text from a Friday September 13, 2024 WBTV Broadcast<\/p>\n

SHELBY, N.C. (WBTV) – The attorney for the man whose house was searched by federal agents in Cleveland County earlier this week in relation to the disappearance of Asha Degree said his client denies knowing nothing (anything) about what happened to her.
\nDavid R. Teddy, who represents Roy Lee Dedmon, said the search warrant for Dedmon\u2019s Cherryville Road property will reveal someone who is no longer living will be linked to the circumstances of Degree\u2019s disappearance.
\nDegree, who was 9-years-old at the time she went missing in February 2000.
\n\u201cIt\u2019s very possible that that person who is no longer here has the answer as to what happened to Asha and the answer may very well never be known,\u201d Teddy said.
\nTeddy spoke to reporters Friday evening, hoping to dispel rumors that have circulated in Cleveland County about the case and Dedmon, whose Shelby home was searched by FBI agents Tuesday and Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m disturbed as a lawyer and as a citizen of this community about the information that has been spread out there,\u201d Teddy said. \u201cI\u2019m concerned not only for my client, Roy Dedmon, and for his family, but most importantly I\u2019m concerned for the Degree family. I do not know Asha\u2019s parents personally but I do know a number of their relatives and they are good, honest, decent people. And they deserve better than what some people in this community have done recently.\u201d
\nDedmon, along with his wife and three children, have all been questioned by authorities about Degree\u2019s disappearance, and all denied knowing anything, according to Teddy.
\nThe search warrant could be unsealed as early as (next?) week, Teddy said.

Editor\u2019s Note No 2: The \u201cDead Person\u201d Attorney David Teddy Turner noted above could be Former CC Sheriff Dan Crawford, Former CC Sheriff Raymond Hamrick, Pastor Nick Elliott (unlikely) or somebody entirely different.
