A CCS \u201cTeam\u201d is examining the reasons for <\/i><\/b><\/em><\/strong><strong><em><u><b><i>suspensions<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong><strong><em><b><i>\u00a0in hopes of connecting students with interventions to prevent discipline infractions directly linked to additional absences.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><b><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/em><\/strong>Other records show that Cleveland County Schools \u201chas <strong><em><u><b><i>1<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong><strong><em><u><b><i>4,324 students<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>\u201d in grades PK, K-12 with a <strong><em><u><b><i>student-teacher ratio of 15 to 1<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong>. \u201cAccording to state test scores, <strong><u><b>47% of students are at least proficient in math and 49% in reading.\u201d<\/b><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Considering this up to date information and doing some easy calculations, CCS has:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3,438 Students who have missed 10% of their school days<\/li>\n<li>7,592 Students who are not proficient in<strong><b>Math<\/b><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>7,305 Students who are not proficient in <strong><b>Reading<\/b><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><strong><b>Bullying<\/b><\/strong>statistics are kept a secret at CCS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, who at CCS is <strong><u><b>responsible<\/b><\/u><\/strong>\u00a0for such a poor academic record??<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b><\/b><strong><u><b> Stephen Fisher<\/b><\/u><\/strong>has been Superintendent at CCS for almost ALL of those 14,324 students\u2019 educational lives.<\/li>\n<li>School Board Members <strong><b>Robert Queen<\/b><\/strong>, <strong><b>Joel Shores<\/b><\/strong>, <strong><b>Ron Humphries<\/b><\/strong>, <strong><b>Rodney Fitch<\/b><\/strong>and <strong><b>Greg Taylor<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0have been the Majority on the CCS School Board for the past four years. Plenty of time to have gotten help to bring most of those 14,324 students up to proficiency levels, <strong><b>but failed to do so<\/b><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>The conclusions here are obvious:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cleveland County Schools are<strong><u><b>FAILING<\/b><\/u><\/strong>\u00a0CCS Students and CC Taxpayers!<\/li>\n<li>That the Five School Board Members who have failed to do their job at CCS should be replaced by Five of the six Candidates shown below:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Samantha Davis<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Kenneth A Ledford<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Sheila Canipe<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><b>David Fisher<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Jay Carpenter<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><b>Matthew Canipe<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u><b><i>Voters, Do your duty on Election Day and turn CCS around!!<\/i><\/b><\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0Most recent CCS documents show that \u201croughly 25% of CCS students have already missed 10% of school\u00a0during the 2023-2024 School Year.
