A Cleveland County TAXPAYER\u2019S BILL OF RIGHTS <\/strong><\/p>\n

A CC COMMISSIONER\u2019S 2024 Commissioners Election Pledge<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Whereas, I believe in fiscal discipline and that government should not pose an unnecessary burden on Cleveland County taxpayers;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Whereas, I believe that Cleveland County government should not grow faster than the state; \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whereas, I believe that Cleveland County government should be beholden to the people of Cleveland County;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0Whereas, I support the following principles:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Annual Cleveland County, spending growth should be limited to the rate of population growth and inflation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Excess revenues collected by Cleveland County above this limit should be used to create a Budget Stabilization Fund, an Emergency Fund and refunded to the taxpayers of Cleveland County through broad-based tax cuts and rebates;<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>An Individual\u2019s Tax Bill increases should only be enacted by the people\u2019s vote or a legislative supermajority.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Therefore, I, <\/strong>Robert A. Williams<\/i><\/u><\/em><\/strong> , of Cleveland County, North Carolina pledge to support a Taxpayer\u2019s Bill of Rights with restrictions as noted herein.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
