Editor\u2019s Note<\/i><\/b>: According to NC Law related legal publications found on the websites of reputable legal professionals: \u201c<\/span>The crime of simple assault involving physical contact<\/i><\/b> under the North Carolina Criminal Law Chapter 14-33(a) <\/span>is <\/i><\/b>the unlawful touching or application of force to the body of another person<\/i><\/b>.<\/i><\/b> Assault is not specifically defined by statute and therefore relies on the traditional Common Law crime of assault for definition.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Folks, CCS School Board Chairman <\/span>Robert Queen<\/b> has violated many laws, rules or ethics and etiquette, and exhibited many instances of just plain old bad judgement and bad behavior ever since he lied to the voters of Cleveland County to get himself elected to the Cleveland County School Board. Now, at the October 9, 2023 School Board Meeting, a \u201cbeet-faced\u201d and mad Robert Queen has taken up the new habit of issuing physical threats against other Board members and actually assaulting a concerned citizen whose only offense was trying to safely exit the CCS Central Services Building after the outrageous October 9, 2023 School Board Meeting was finally over.<\/span><\/p>\n

Generally speaking, this assault against a citizen committed by School Board Chairman Robert Queen after the October 9, 2023 School Board meeting was the culmination of a contentious series of bad acts carried out by Board Chairman Robert Queen all during the \u201cofficial\u201d meeting where Robert Queen abused his authority as Chairman to falsely rule and accuse that fellow School Board Member Danny Blanton was \u201cout of order\u201d and that Fellow School Board member Ronnie Grigg was a LIAR. Tensions mounted right before the end of the meeting during the Board Member\u2019s Comments section when both Blanton and Grigg re-stated that their Constitutional Rights had been violated. Queen responded that <\/span>HE<\/b> had determined that there were no Constitutional violations and that <\/span>HE<\/b> would rule anybody that brought up the issues again would be ruled out of order and NOT allowed to speak. And then Queen abruptly illegally adjourned the meeting without a vote. But the fireworks were only beginning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Board Member Danny Blanton went over to the School Board\u2019s lawyer asking about seeing the Security Camera footage from the Burns High School Vandalism incident and a red-faced and angry Robert Queen raced over to confront Blanton in such a manner that caused Blanton (and <\/span>Robert A<\/i><\/b> and everybody else) to believe that Queen was about to physically attack Danny Blanton. As it just so happened, <\/span>Robert A<\/i><\/b> was on his way to the exit and was only a few feet away. <\/span>Robert A<\/i><\/b> stopped and also asked a few others to stop as a fist-fight started by Robert Queen appeared to be eminent and help might be needed to stop a fight. After a few tense moments, Danny Blanton smartly walked straight away toward the exit and apparently went straight home. But there were more fireworks from Robert Queen to come against another citizen in just a few more minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n

As <\/span>Robert A<\/i><\/b> and the others were exiting the Central Services Auditorium toward the Front Receptionist\u2019s Office area, <\/span>Robert A<\/i><\/b> peeled off to visit the restroom. Then rejoined the other\u2019s in that front area discussing, in disbelief and disgust, what had just happened during and just after the October 9, 2023 School Board meeting. Little did we know that the worst from Robert Queen was about to come.<\/span><\/p>\n

While <\/span>Robert A<\/i><\/b> and others had exited the auditorium through the back exit, Robert Queen, other Board Members\u00a0 and others had exited from the auditorium\u2019s side exit and taken a parallel path to the West Corridor of the Central Services building that led to the elevator, a lighted indoor stairs and a side exit to the west parking lot. Where <\/span>Robert A<\/i><\/b> and others usually park when attending school board meetings. Many times, when it is dark outside, raining or bad weather, <\/span>Robert A<\/i><\/b> and others will take that route, thru the Double Doors, down the hallway, down the elevator or the lighted stairway and out the back exit to the parking lot.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a member of our small party finds it dangerous to leave the Central Services at night because the front steps are awkward and unevenly lighted, attention was turned toward the corridors and it was noticed that Robert Queen, Greg Taylor and at least a half dozen more School Board members and CCS personnel were milling around about 20 feet or so inside those\u00a0 double doors and just down the hall.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of us asked the person that wanted to use that pathway to the outside because he found negotiating the CCS Building Front Steps dangerous at night if he was going through those double doors and through that crowd, including the very angry Robert Queen. \u201cOh NO!\u201d says the citizen. \u201cNot through that crowd! They could make up a story to say that I had done all kinds of bad things. Maybe they will move along soon.\u201d So, a few of us stayed around for a while. But to no avail. Robert Queen and his crowd (who were apparently trying to cool down Robert Queen) stayed there milling around. Finally, the citizen decides to go ahead down the corridor and opens the right door of that set of double doors and exit the building safely.<\/span><\/p>\n

But <\/span>NOOOoooo!<\/b> The still mad Robert Queen yells out to the citizen, \u201c<\/span>You can\u2019t come through here, we\u2019re having a Private Meeting.<\/i><\/b>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The citizen replies asking how can you be having a private meeting in a hallway and it appears a majority of school board members are there, which calls for an open-door meeting. Then, Robert Queen (beet-faced red by now) \u201cstruts\u201d up to the citizen. Grabs the door handle and slams the door against the citizen, knocking him back through the doorway.<\/span><\/p>\n

The citizen says to Robert Queen through the closed door, \u201cHey, YOU just assaulted ME!!\u201d A Beet-Faced red Robert Queen yells back to the citizen, <\/span>\u201cDo something about it!!!\u201d <\/b>Clearly an invitation to a fist fight.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Citizen walks back to us and we all go out by front door. The Citizens holding on tight to the handrails and slowly and very, very carefully makes his way down the steps. Especially in the dark shadowy areas. It would be a certainty that a tumble DOWN those dangerous steps would have most likely resulted in serious injury to the person involved. Which would have quickly turned into a lawsuit against Robert Queen and the Cleveland County taxpayers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Folks, also note that <\/i><\/b>Robert A<\/i><\/b> and others witnessed this incident and by this account Robert A Williams is submitting this to the Cleveland County School Board and their Roadwhore lawyers as an official complaint. Immediate action is demanded!!!\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Folks, Also, note that this account only generally spoke to other important agenda Items in the agenda for the October 9, 2023 School Board Meeting. More detailed reporting of those items is forthcoming.<\/span><\/p>\n

Editor\u2019s Note:<\/i><\/b> It is apparent that CCS School Board Meetings have become a dangerous place for several Board Members and Citizens alike to attend. Since there is strength in numbers, there is an urgent need for many more citizens to attend these school board meetings, travel in groups of no less than three and escort School Board Members Danny Blanton, Ronnie Grigg, Aaron Bridges and other concerned citizens to and from these meetings.
