Breaking News:<\/p>\n

The Cleveland County Board of Elections has reported what it is trending to be a record turnout for the 2018 General Elections.\u00a0 After 4 days of early voting, more than 5,000 citizens have voted.\u00a0 The voting distribution appears to generally follow the percentages of registered voters.\u00a0 Democrats are barely\u00a0 the number one voting block so far, followed by Republican and then unaffiliated.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

However, Democrats typically have higher percentages of voting during early voting while Republicans and Unaffiliated tend to vote with higher percentages on the actual Election Day, November 6th this year.\u00a0 If that trend continues and we do have a record turnout, Republican candidat3es will win by a large margin.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

From all the information available at present, the so called Democrat “Blue Wave,” born of “enthusiasm will be\u00a0 swallowed by a Red Wave.\u00a0\u00a0 Especially in Cleveland County.\u00a0 That is despite record spending by incumbent\u00a0 Democrats Eddie Holbrook for Commissioner and Alan Norman for Sheriff.\u00a0 If elections in Cleveland County can be bought, Holbrook and Norman will win re-election.\u00a0 But what is that saying about voters.\u00a0 Holbrook has a record for his 12 years in office.\u00a0 So does Sheriff Norman for his 8 years.\u00a0 The fact that they are spending so much\u00a0 and campaigning so hard indicates something.\u00a0 The fact that neither one will answer questions regarding their time in office also says something.\u00a0 Both have campaign law violations but Holbrook has much more of that.\u00a0 Maybe more than everybody else put together.<\/p>\n

Speaker of the NC House, Republican Tim Moore probably has had the most liberal news attacks against him.\u00a0 But Tim seems to have his office pretty well sewn up, although I would prefer he answer questions from his constituents.\u00a0 Myself being one of them.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Folks, although this year might be a record year for voter turnout in a non-presidential year, that is not saying much for Cleveland County.\u00a0 Out of 63,000 registered voters, 52,000 stayed home in 2017 and53,000 stayed home in the 2018 primary races.\u00a0 Also, out of the very few that turn out to vote, even in a record turnout,\u00a0 I suspect well over half make their decisions on who to vote for based on who has the biggest and most signs and best bumper sticker slogans.\u00a0 Even when they have the information available and\u00a0 in front of them.\u00a0 They are “conditioned” to accept a low information status and vote like Massa wants them to vote.\u00a0 It’s been that way for many years,
\nThe only thing that changes is who the Massa is.<\/p>\n

However, that doesn’t have to be.\u00a0 If you are reading this, keep reading and you will no longer be a low information voter.\u00a0 Then your choice on who to vote for will be based on a smidgen of critical and logical thinking.\u00a0 Which never hurt anybody, except Massa.<\/p>\n
