Statement by Robert A. Williams
[I am not the only one reporting on the facts about the Cleveland County Board of Education and their lack of leadership and continued scandals and cover-up.]
The Cleveland County School Board meeting Tuesday evening, all four hours of it, was an educational experience. (no pun intended) I’ll say this for the majority of the board: they can talk for a while about a moment of silence, and still try to convince you that they are just wanting to stay away from something that could be unconstitutional, or have them facing a lawsuit. Well, unless the lawsuit involves tenure, or paying money to charter schools, handed down by a judge. Nope, a moment of silence, indeed, as that also allows the board to not subject some kids to a prayer, or to hear about God or something.
