More TROUBLE in PARADISE—The Kevin Gordon Effect!!!

Editor’s Note: Folks, By now most of you have learned that the word “eritas” is “SATIRE” spelled backwards! Although Robert A has truly identified the Kleveland Kounty Kommissioners (KKK’s) as “Skunks,” “crooks,” “liars” and other such accurate terms, he finds it very difficult to write anything serious about the many foolish exploits of these KKK wannabes and especially Kommissar Chairman Kevin Gordon, with a straight face. Since they are so “silly” and all with their mumbles, grumbles and fumbles. This is one of those occasions where Kevin Gordon has out-done himself by far. How Kevin Gordon has taken something so simple and made such a crime out of it.

Folks, the following email message, from Kommissar Kevin Gordon, came in this past Friday (12/27/24) morning at 8:58 am. All mixed in and jumbled-up with all the pages of Holiday after Christmas sales, bargains and Facebook Friends sending out Christmas messages and pictures of their prize Christmas turkey with all its fixings and trimmings. So, it was late Sunday night before Robert A came across Kommissar Kevin’s latest foolishness. It was a required legal notice that the Kommissar was calling a Special Meeting for 10 AM on December 30, 2024. After all the politicking by CC Attorney Tim Moore over this past election YEAR, and Tim winning Election to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC, Kommissar Kevin has finally figured out that Kleveland Kounty, NC was going to have to appoint a new Kounty Attorney. Even though KK had their Deputy Kounty Attorney Martha Thompson filling Tim’s shoes for most of 2023-2024. All on top of the many Special Called meetings Kommissar Kevin has called in the past month. Sometimes two such meetings in the same day.

Was KK Kommissar Kevin Gordon stupid or careless or just what??? He is certainly not efficient. Or maybe not even a bit sensible. Or worse.

But KK Kommissar Kevin Gordon does have one particularly bad “trait” that Robert A has figured out a long-time ago. Kevin Gordon is predictable. Kevin Gordon is predictable in doing what Kevin Gordon thinks is advantageous for Kevin Gordon. At the expense of all the citizens of Cleveland County. We “KNOW” that Kevin Gordon was somehow and for some reason placed on Administrative Leave from his high paying job in Gaston County, and later “Resigned.” under a cloud of suspicion. Probably FORCED to RESIGN. So, why did Cleveland County Voters re-elect Kevin Gordon as a KK Kommissioner??? Is a question that somebody knows the answer to, but refuses to tell. And Kevin Gordon also refuses to answer that question. So much for KG’s Honesty.

Also, Kevin Gordon is predictable in other ways too. He is dishonest in his official Kounty actions and likes to cover-up by misapplying North Carolina laws about how various things are required to work. Kevin Gordon, as this article will clearly show, likes to quote one part of the law and purposefully leaves other parts that are counter-productive to his own purposes completely out. Kevin Gordon, in the following official Kleveland Kounty Document completely proves this point.

Read ON!!! The Law, North Carolina General Statute 143.318.11(a)6 is the Law that Kevin Gordon dissected, cut up and scrambled for his own purposes. He published the part that gives a “governing body” legal authority to call a CLOSED SESSISON, BUT COMPLETELY LEAVES OUT THE PART THAT REQUIRES AN OPEN SESSION.

The following is an exact replica of Kevin Gordon’s legally required Notification of this so-called “Special” Meeting and Closed Session. Note that Robert A has underlined, bolded and increased the font size to make the point more obvious. Note that NCGS 143.318 also states that bringing an attorney into a closed session for one legitimate reason, but, does NOT allow other things to be discussed that are not in and of themselves closed session items. Also note that the document replicated below is in the form of an AGENDA. An AGENDA of a so-called meeting that leaves out all of the meeting processes. Simple processes like:

Calling the Meeting to Order as a Public Meeting
A Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance
Recognizing any participants that might be required to be present
A Motion to go into Closed Session
A motion to come-out of Closed Session and back into Open Session.
An announcement of any actions or items recommendations decided upon in Closed Session that must be acted upon in Open Session. Note that any actual Board actions must be taken in OPEN Session.
A Motion to adjourn the meeting.

Folks, Note that ALL of these processes are required by North Carolina Law. Also note that the Agenda shown below shows NONE of these processes. Thus, making this so-called Official Meeting totally against the Laws of North Carolina. Also meaning that Kleveland Kounty Kommissioner Chairman Kevin Gordon, right about now, is committing an illegal act. And, whomever the Kommissioners appoint as the next Kleveland Kounty Attorney has not done their jobs. And the Kommissioners are all crooks and liars. Skunks and Fools to boot. Proven by their very own documents as shown below.

North Carolina General Statute 143-31-318-(6) States, in FULL that:

To consider the qualifications, competence, performance, character, fitness, conditions of appointment, or conditions of initial employment of an individual public officer or employee or prospective public officer or employee.

This General Statute also includes, as a second sentence:

“OR to hear or investigate a complaint, charge, or grievance by or against an individual public officer or employee. General personnel policy issues may not be considered in a closed session. A public body may not consider the qualifications, competence, performance, character, fitness, appointment, or removal of a member of the public body or another body and may not consider or fill a vacancy among its own membership except in an open meeting. Final action making an appointment or discharge or removal by a public body having final authority for the appointment or discharge or removal shall be taken in an open meeting.”

So, Folks, it is obvious that the Kleveland Kounty Kommissioners led by Kommissar Kevin Gordon have proven themselves (again) to be “Skunks” and “Liars”, “Crooks” and “scoundrels!!!” All acting in what THEY consider to be in the very best interest of the citizens of Cleveland County. AND INCOMPETENT FOOLS TOO. They surely have known, since March 5, 2024, that County Attorney Tim Moore would be leaving his position as County Attorney for his new adventure as a Member of the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC. Way too far away to commute back and forth for all these “Special Called Meetings” that Kommissar Kevin Gordon is calling. For no good reason.

Robert A Predicts that we “ain’t seen nothing yet” regarding the foolish and silly shenanigans these present Kommissioners: Kevin Gordon, Johnny Hutchins, Deb Hardin and Doug Bridges are about to pull Tony Berry and the rest of Cleveland County into.
