Commissioners Secretly Raise Thousands of Citizens Tax Bills by
Closing Midpines Recycling Center in KM!! And lying about it!!
Report, predictions, gossip and recommendations by Robert A
Editor’s Note: Folks, you Cleveland County Taxpayers, Citizens and Voters are going to have to learn a new “language” to understand when the Cleveland County Commissioners are lying to you about property “taxes,” ” revaluations,” “revenue Neutral,” and “Tax bills.” Especially regarding this new property revaluation that the Commissioners are trotting out in 2025, purposely AFTER the 2024 Commissioners Elections; that will significantly RAISE your property appraised values.
First of all folks, most of us Cleveland County taxpayers call the amounts shown on our property tax bills every year our “taxes.” All of us are going to have to remember that our tax bills are figured up using two numbers. One Number is the TAX RATE. Tax Rates are the amount of tax money, in cents, that the Cleveland County Commissioners have determined will be collecting per $100 of the property valuation. That number is presently 54.75 cents per every $100 of your property value. Or .5475 dollars per property values. (And, guess who determines your property values? The Cleveland County Commissioners determine that too!!)
So, consider this example: if the tax rate is .5475 dollars/$100 and your property value is determined by the Commissioners to be $100,000 your tax bill will be .5475 X 100,000/100, which equals $547.50 for the county general property tax only. You will then have to add in the County Fire Tax rate, the city tax rate, the school tax rate and whatever else you are taxed on. For Robert A, the School tax rate is 14 cents (or .14 dollars) per $100 valuation, the town of Fallston tax rate is 5 cents or .05 dollars per $100 valuation and the Fallston Fire tax is 8.75 cents or .0875 dollars per $100 valuation. So, to repeat the calculations as previously shown, you add the .5475 + .1400 + .0500 + 0875 all together to get a final tax rate of .7650 dollars (or 76.5 cents tax rate per $100 valuation. So, Robert A’s total tax bill would be .7650 X 100,000/100 which would actually be $765.00.
NOW comes the rub. Robert A’s tax bill also includes a charge of $80.37 for a Solid Waste User’s Fee. Note that Robert A uses the Recycling Center at Lawndale. Which, for example, would be added to the Property Tax Bill as calculated above to total $845.37.
The reason Robert A went through this exercise above is to show all us Cleveland County taxpayers what to watch out for in the 2024 Commissioners Elections when Commissioners Kevin Gordon, Ronnie Whetstine and Johnny Hutchins are up for re-election. All of these incumbent Commissioners will surely be saying is that they “will not raise taxes.” If you hear any one of these commissioners say those words, you will know for sure that THEY (Gordon, Whetstine and Hutchins) are trying to deceive YOU just to get your vote on election day. YOU must know that while YOU are thinking they are saying they won’t raise your tax bill, But NOooo, THEY are really saying that they won’t be raising the TAX RATE. Which will still stay at 54.75 cents. But, if the property valuation goes up 25%, YOUR tax bill will also be going up 25%. Your folks will have to always remember that YOU are concentrating on just how much $$$ is coming out of your pocket because of the Commissioner’s tax bill. They are concentrating on getting re-elected, while still giving Eddie Holbrook (and others) tons of cash for the ALWS with getting little to no return on Cleveland County taxpayers’ ALWS investment of around $10 Million over the years.
Now folks, you should be practicing to think TAX Bill when you are being told by the Dog-Killing, Lying Commissioners that they won’t be raising “your taxes.” Now you are also aware that YOUR tax bills will also include a Solid Waste User’s Fee. So, some discussion of the Midpines Recycling Center being closed by the Commissioners is causing an increase in costs to probably 15,000 of Cleveland County Citizens who were previously using the MIDPINES Recycling Center on a regular basis. And how these increased costs are actually CC government tax increases for the citizens that now have to drive extra miles and take extra time out of their lives because of some issue, probably a manufactured and corruption oriented issue, associated with the indefinite closure of Midpines.
Editor’s’s Note: Robert A recommends voting in the 2024 General elections for the Commissioners as follows:
Tony Berry
Stormy Mongiello
