Big Ruckus Wednesday at Shelby Library Early Voting!!

Editor’s Note: The call came in to Robert A at 9:46 AM on February 22, 2024, that a big ruckus had occurred the day before at the Shelby Library Early Voting site. The caller was a trusted source who asked that his identity not be revealed. Even though Robert A believes every word of this article is true, he is calling this gossip, and those readers who care to can call the authorities for confirmation on their own initiative. Those names that are called out should feel free to provide their own recollections of this incident and Robert A will publish every word.

Editor’s Note No. 2: Folks, stealing election signs is a crime. Elections signs cost money and stealing somebody else’s property should be punished severely. As Robert A Williams is a candidate for Cleveland County Commissioner and has had a significant number of his own campaign signs stolen; he knows first-hand about the feelings that a large part of Democracy has been stolen by cowardly sign stealers who usually hide themselves in the dark. Also, one sign stealer had been caught and charged in Cleveland County this election cycle. Robert A. urges the Cleveland County District Attorney to seek the maximum punishment.

As previously stated, the call came into Robert A at 9:46 AM on February 22, 2024, that a big ruckus had occurred the day before at the Shelby Library Early Voting site the day before that was newsworthy in scope. The following is per Robert A’s notes of the Conversation.

During the February 21, 2024, early voting at the Shelby Library, School Board Candidate Rodney Fitch (also a high-level Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department official) roared into the parking lot of the Shelby Library during active early voting. Rodney Fitch then parked up front in a marked parking spot that is reserved for Handicapped persons.

Rodney Fitch allegedly was wearing civilian clothes but was carrying his firearm on his side. Note that Rodney Fitch, as a School Board Member, also often attended school board meetings dressed and armed the very same way. Complaints were allegedly made to Sheriff Alan Norman about Rodney Fitch carrying his firearm to school board meetings. And after a time, a LONG time, Rodney Fitch began to attend school board meetings visibly unarmed, like everybody else.

Rodney Fitch, armed, allegedly sought out fellow School Board Members Danny Blanton and Ronnie Grigg, who were passing out campaign literature for other CCS School Board Candidates, and stated in angry, agitated, loud and accusatory words to the effect that “somebody has been stealing my (campaign) signs and this place has a security camera. I am about to find out who it is (the Sign Stealers).”

Rodney Fitch then entered the “Library” (note that Robert A did not immediately think to ask the caller, what part of the library? As Elections Board personnel were in one section of the library conducting early voting and the remainder of the Library was being occupied by Library personnel conducting regular library business.)

When inside the “library” Rodney Fitch, allegedly still agitated, angry and using loud and accusatory language, appeared to “terrorize” the “staff” who did not recognize CCSD Officer Rodney Fitch, but DID recognize an angry and agitated man who was carrying a gun!

Anyway, according to the source, the Shelby Library Security Cameras were accessed and the alleged sign stealers were identified. It was NOT Danny Blanton or Ronnie Grigg, but Library, or Election Board personnel.

Further questioning of those identified as removing Rodney Fitch’s School Board Election signs indicated that Rodney Fitch’s signs were too close to the building, according to NC Stated Board of Elections Rules, and were removed until further notice.

It would be speculation on Robert A’s part to assume that it is possible that the Election’s Board staff had called Rodney Fitch about his signs being removed and a hot-tempered Rodney Fitch misunderstood the message. But the “ruckus” started by Rodney Fitch at the Shelby Library Early Voting was witnessed by many, including Danny Blanton, Ronnie Grigg, Commissioner Chairman Kevin Gordon, and Wayne King. As well as a trusted source. As a result of this Ruckus at the Shelby Library during Early Voting, It is alleged that Wayne King sent a message to CC Sheriff Alan Norman about this incident. And SOMEBODY called the CC Board of Elections Director, Clifton Philbeck, who soon arrived at the scene to help clear up the situation.

It is presently unknown whether or not Rodney Fitch’s non-law enforcement “personal investigative actions” while carrying a firearm, violated any State or Federal Elections laws. Robert A. figures NOTHING will ever happen along those lines.

But tensions are high in this 2024 Cleveland County Republican Primary School Board elections that rest completely at the feet of Rodney Fitch, Joel Shores, Greg Taylor, Ron Humphries, and CCS School Board Chairman (and ring leader) Robert Queen. Plus, Walter Scott Spurling, is presently going around carrying water for Robert Queen. No thanks to these Six, the CCS School Board has been in turmoil ever since the 2020 elections when Queen, Shores, Humphries, Taylor, and Fitch all lied to the voters that they would ensure transparency. But, once elected, they have tightly enforced secrecy at CCS ever since.

Now, FOUR years later they are all afraid of losing reelection. So, they revert back to their original Dennis Bailey Rogue Republican Training. Lie to get reelected, and do what you please for another four years after that.

It’s the old Cleveland County “Rope-a-Dope” political trick. Invented by the Democrats and perfected by the Rogue Republicans, Robert A will have no part of it!!

A “rumor” was also passed along to Robert A, that Rodney Fitch has or will resign from the Sheriff’s Office effective this coming March 8, 2024. Robert A has no knowledge of whether or not this rumor is true. Time will tell. And soon enough!!!

And, last but not least, comes Robert A’s recommendations for the CCS School Board Republican Primary Elections. Recommendations that will put the CCS School Board Rogue Republicans where they need to be.

Pick five of the six below.

 Samantha Davis

Kenneth Ledford

Sheila Canipe

Matthew Canipe (no relation to Sheila Canipe)

David Fisher

Jay Carpenter

Note: Do not mark all six. If you do your ballot will not count as there are only five vacancies open for election.

Notes:

Gloria Sherman has plenty of experience, but, according to her answers at the recent WeRCC Forum, Gloria is way too much of a “Team Player” and NC School Board Association advocate to suit Robert A’s preferences.

Chad Simpson and his positions on issues are totally unknown to Robert A.

Folks, remember to vote for your Candidates of Choice on Election Day. And, Let’s Take Back Cleveland County!!
