Robert A answers School Board Questions asked by Shelby Star!!

Editor’s Note: Robert A. Williams is a signed up, qualified, and ready to go candidate for the Cleveland County Board of Commissioners. When elected a Commissioner, Robert A will not be needing any on the job training on the many, many issues facing Cleveland County. So, when Robert A received a “Boot-leg” copy of the Shelby Star’s Primary Election questions for the CCS School Board, Robert A decided to put in his two-cents also. Especially since the County Commissioners raise and collects the CC School Taxes. And, it is about time the CC Commissioners hold the CCS School Board accountable to spend the taxpayer’s hard-earned tax dollars wisely and effectively. To Robert A’s knowledge NO Commissioner has ever done this before. And it is overdue by many years!!!

Folks, the following is a message the Shelby Star Reporter Rebecca Sitzes sent to all the CCS School Board Candidates. Robert A’s answers to these questions are also provided in BOLD type. These are Robert A’s own personal opinions based on his own personal observation gleaned from years of attending CCS School Board Meetings and writing about the issues to inform the Citizens of Cleveland County. Many voters may wish to vote for Robert A for the School Board. But, please don’t try that. Remember, Robert A. Williams is running for Cleveland County Commissioner. Just mark your ballot for Robert A in the Commissioners space and know that Robert A can and will Multi-task in such a way that benefits all the good citizens of Cleveland County. And always will.

Hi School Board Candidates

I am sending out questions to all candidates running for the board of education to help voters get to know the candidates before the primary election next month. I will need a response by Wednesday at noon. Thank you! Let me know if you have any questions.

  1. What do you think are the top three challenges currently facing Cleveland County Schools?

  • Lack of Transparency at every level
  • Failing Schools
  • Bullying & Retaliation
  • Dysfunctional Majority presently on the School Board
  • Dysfunctional leadership by the Superintendent
  • Too much indoctrination of students and not enough proper educational materials and lesson plans
  • Over half of all students cannot read or do math at grade level
  • No proper plans at present to replace aging schools
  • No proper plans at present to effectively improve the education of students who are NOT at grade level
  • Too many valid lawsuits against CCS and NO efforts are made to learn the lessons from these valid lawsuits

  1. How do you intend to facilitate team work if elected to the board?

  • Advise all school board members to disregard the “training (Indoctrination)” by the ultra-liberal NC State School Board Association and the twisted “Opinions” of the School Board Attorneys and read for themselves the LAW as written and provided by the NC General Assembly

  1. What are your two biggest personal priorities and how do you intend to accomplish them if elected?

  • Eliminate Bullying from CCS:

This can be accomplished by simply REQUIRING the Superintendent to follow the law as provided by the NC General Assembly, and to enforce the Policies, Codes of Conduct and Procedures already available for use at CCS

  • Improve the Vocational Training (CTE) at CCS

This can also be easily accomplished by bringing basic vocational training back to CCS Middle Schools and High Schools from Cleveland Community College and Coordinate more advanced Vocational Training with CCC and local industries.

  • Require all high-level leadership positions at CCS to be filled by those best trained and experienced for that position:

Presently all high-level leadership positions at CCS are filled by people with Educational type educational training ad experience. Presently things like High Level Maintenance, Operations Engineering, Human Relations, School Buses, etc. are led by folks with educational training and experience only. Which results in such information needed by the CCS School Board being funneled through two or more levels of high-level management who are NOT educated, trained or experienced in the field they are reporting to the School Board. This results in much waste, duplications of efforts and most of all, a misinformed CCS School Board
