Cleveland County Commissioner Chairman Kevin Gordon Resigns!!    as EMS and Fire Services Director in Gaston County!!!   After lengthy Administrative Leave Period!!   Interim Gaston County EMS and Fire Services Director Appointed!!   Robert A For Commissioner??!! Report, gossip observations and conclusions by Robert A

Official documents from Gaston County show that Kevin Gordon, after a lengthy Administrative Leave period has resigned this past week as the Gaston County Emergency Management Services and Fire Services Director. An Interim EMS and Fire Services Director has been installed and Kevin Gordon is out and gone. Such situations as this typically indicate that Kevin Gordon was offered this option by Gaston County: Resign immediately or be terminated for cause. Cleveland County has done the same thing many times over.

Gossip has it that Kevin Gordon had gotten himself caught up in some dubious record keeping matter that was found by a State Review. Some gossip even says that CCS School Board Chairman Robert Queen had learned of the dubious record keeping from Fire Department sources and had tipped off the State Agency that ended up catching Kevin Gordon. This is some of the gossip and may be right or just as easily may be completely wrong. The truth of the matter is only known by Kevin Gordon, Robert Queen and perhaps other unknown people.

So, Gaston County has gotten rid of their problem, but Cleveland County’s problem is just starting. If Kevin Gordon has violated State Laws in Gaston County, enough to be potentially terminated, he is just as guilty here in Cleveland County. The citizens of Cleveland County have the right to know whether or not their County Commissioner Chairman is a crook or not. And the Commissioners, including Kevin Gordon, have the duty to fully inform Cleveland County Citizens. And we must go from there. And, one must consider that Gaston County will not be of any help as they have already gotten rid of their problem.

It would be simple for Cleveland County to demand that Kevin Gordon resign as a Cleveland County Commissioner, or at least take a leave of absence until this entire situation is known and NC General Statutes are consulted. Which raises several issues.

One is the CCGOP Executive Committee. If Gordon leaves office during his term, the CCGOP Executive Committee would the ones to select a replacement. For instance, if they selected Robert A, who is well versed in the procedures, problems and issues facing Cleveland County, things would be OK. If they selected their buddy Dennis Bailey or Kevin Whisnant, Cleveland County would quickly go to Hell in a handbasket.

Two, The Commissioners need a strong commitment from all to hold Robert Queen and his Rogues on the School Board accountable and held in check from their reckless spending ways. Robert A would be fine with that also.

Otherwise, Cleveland County, hold your nose and keep Kevin Gordon right where he is until the Elections of 2024 roll around and new Commissioners and School Board members can be elected. This option would probably cost taxpayers hundreds of $Million$ and put Cleveland County in such a financial hole that not even the Village Idiot would be stupid enough to file and run for office in Cleveland County.

Folks, these are trying times here in Cleveland County and Robert A might be the only one NOW that could pull Cleveland County out of the huge mess that it is in.
