Editor’s Note: School Board Policy 5020, as amended, requires school board members to get permission from Supt. Stephen Fisher prior to visiting any school or any school property. The person who drafted this amendment was first alleged to be Robert Queen. Now school board member Ron Humphries is claiming to the be the author of the amendment. This illegal policy, as amended, was approved by a 6-3 vote at the March 13, 2023 School Board meeting after heated and flawed arguments by Robert Queen, Ron Humphries, Joel Shores, Rodney Fitch and Greg Taylor. Danny Blanton, Ronnie Grigg and Aaron Bridges correctly voted against this flawed and illegal policy amendment. It is expected that no board member will comply with this policy as amended. Also note that Sandra Stroud has reduced this issue to its simplest terms in her comments shown below.

I’m having explain again to the “Water Boys” on the Cleveland County School Board Who Superintendent Stephen Fisher works for and who the ELECTED officials work for.
First, I am going to have to get all of you on a clear path of thinking. Salaries of all types for the many employees of Cleveland County comes from the revenue collected through our tax system. That means Supt. Stephen Fisher is a paid employee of Cleveland County as are all of our elected officials.
School Board members are elected officials and they do not in any way work for Supt. Stephen Fisher. Furthermore, the nonsense policy that was written by Robert Queen means nothing. He is a board member acting as chairman for the board with NO AUTHORITY to make policies directed to (other) board members.
All but three board members voted for the nonsense policy (5020 as amended) which indicates that six men on the board do not have the intelligence to know that MOBODY can enforce the policy or punish if the policy is violated. School Board members are ELECTED OFFICIALS!! Who can punish them if they violate this stupid policy?
Go ahead Danny Blanton, Ronnie Grigg and Aaron Bridges! I (as a citizen and a voter) give you permission!! You (three) are the only members on the CCSB who are trying do what you should. Go into any school that you need to and we’ll see what will happen. Stephen Fisher may find himself in the unemployment line!

We want no more corruption like what was found out about the Catawba Casino, the bribed sale of our hospital for 2 cents on the dollar, endless sales tax increase referendums, endless property revaluations where Cleveland County has deployed drones to peep into our bedroom windows looking for whatever it is that they can use to raise property taxes over. And it goes on and on.
