Rev. Dante Murphy Recommend Samantha Davis for the CCS School Board, has slight concerns about Joel Shores. Comment forwarded by Robert A. Williams

Editor’s Note: This comment was in response to my last article titled: School Board Members running for re-election accused of Unethical and Illegal Conduct!! In that article, I recommended Samantha Davis, Joel Shores, Rodney Fitch, Robert Queen and Ron Humphries for the CCS School Board in the 2020 Elections. I also reported that School Board Candidates Shearra Miller, Richard Hooker and Roger Harris has been accused of unethical and illegal acts similar to those committed by Former Commissioner Chairman Eddie “Massa Eddie” Holbrook in the controversial “Plantation Politics” of the 2018 Commissioner’s elections. “Massa Eddie” was defeated in that election even after spending a record $68,000 in his re-election campaign that year. Since his loss as a Democrat Candidate for Commissioner in 2018, “Massa Eddie” Holbrook has changed his Political Party affiliation twice since then. From a lifelong Democrat to an Unaffiliated and from an Unaffiliated to a Republican. I suspect that “Massa Eddie” has or will soon pay the $100 membership fee to become a member of the Cleveland County Republican Party Executive Committee. Which will allow “Massa Eddie” to have a vote in filling any vacancy in Cleveland County elected offices. A very dangerous political situation for Cleveland County. Especially the taxpayers. Stay tuned for future articles about that and other acts of corruption in Cleveland County. Be prepared for a sever shock!

Rev. Dante Murphy, A minister of God, as well as a college instructor and a “Cohort” of mine, provided this comment to my last article. School Board Members running for re-election accused of Unethical and Illegal Conduct!!

Mr. Williams,

Samantha Davis should be a person of high interest among Democrats and Republicans in the upcoming elections. My impression is that she has not bought into the “system.” That is, her focus is not on protecting an institution, but rather, protecting and providing for the welfare of children.

There were times when Samantha Davis pushed against some of the decisions I made regarding my time in Shelby and beyond. I admired most that emphasis was always directed towards the students.

This is not to say that other school board members lack the same love and compassion for students. The difference is the willingness to be change agents. Our school systems across the state are in shambles (e.g. sexual abuse of children, low performing schools, high overhead expenses, lack of accountability, etc.). Only strong candidates with the ability to think for themselves will combat the problems facing our public schools.

Mr. Williams, while I agree for the most part with your recommendations for school board, I have concerns with regarding Joel Shoals. It is my understanding that Mr. Shoals works for the same law enforcement agency that failed to hold Superintendent Dr. Fisher accountable for a frivolous lawsuit filed against Sheriff Alan Norman. This is bothersome considering the corruption being discovered among top administrators in our school system.

Lastly, I was honored to use one of your articles in a class that I am teaching at the Mt. Calvary Center for Leadership Development in Pender County. Your unique stance against cultural corruption and a need for government accountability is being recognized around the state.

Rev. Dante’ Murphy

Editor’s Note: Thank you Rev. Murphy for your comment. I especially like that last paragraph. You can use any of my articles for whatever purpose you see fit.

Also, both school board candidates Joel Shores and Rodney Fitch are high ranking officers in the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office. It is my understanding that Sheriff Alan Norman himself has made the decision NOT to directly pursue accountability against CCS Superintendent Stephen Fisher and others on the School Board. However, I would tend to conclude that two high ranking Sheriff’s Office officials running for the School may achieve just that purpose. I support making appropriate changes at Cleveland County School by electing candidates that want to do that same thing. I also believe that electing Samantha Davis, Joel Shores, Rodney Fitch, Robert Queen and Ron Humphries to the School Board, representing a majority. Can make the appropriate changes that are sorely needed. And long overdue.

This is a “cut” from a sample ballot that shows my recommendations for the Cleveland County School Board in the 2020 Elections. Print this off and take it with you to vote or mark your absentee ballot.
