More Turnover at Sheriff’s Department-Disciplinary Actions! 2022 Politics already Unfolding??!!! “—Source Report forwarded by Robert A. Williams

Sources report even more than usual turnover at the Cleveland Count4y Sheriff’s Department. Especially the Jail. “Zipper Problems” -sexual relations between CCSO employees are reported as the reason for several disciplinary actions. Not warnings, but dismissal. Although some illicit sexual relations are reported to be known but allowed to continue.

Other reports say Major Durwin Briscoe, the highest-level Black officer in the CCSO is being shuttled to the side-by assignment to oversee the Jail while Major Joel Shores is maintaining a higher profile at the CCSO. Gossip says both are interested in running for Sheriff when Sheriff Alan Norman choses to retire and that Major Briscoe is thinking about leaving the Sheriff’s Office.

Since Major Briscoe is a Democrat and Sheriff Alan Norman has switched to the Republican Party, Major Briscoe may be considering filing for the Sheriff’s Office in 2022 as a Democrat and running against whatever Republican files for the Sheriff’s Office in 2022. Such a move is not new. Former Sheriff Raymond Hamrick did the same thing in his successful run against incumbent Sheriff Dan Crawford not very many years ago. Even Sheriff Alan Norman and then Chief Deputy Danny Gordon were fired by Sheriff Raymond Hamrick when they filed to run against him-a race that Sheriff Alan Norman eventually won.

It has been reported that many in leadership positions in the Black Community are demanding a Black Sheriff for Cleveland County and are very skeptical of Major Briscoe’s assignment to the problem filled but confined exposure to the general public in that jail assignment.

We predict that Sheriff Alan Norman will not retire soon and will file for re-election to the Sheriff’s Office in 2022. We also predict that former State Highway Patrolman and present School Board member Phillip “Bully” Glover will file as a Democrat to run for Sheriff in 2022.

Many Black Community Leaders in Cleveland County have already supported Phillip Glover for office over Black candidates (Plantation Politics) in past elections, so a win in the Sheriff’s race in the 2022 Democrat Primary Election by Major Durwin Briscoe may very well NOT be a sure thing. If recent history has shown us anything, it is that Black Leadership in Cleveland County do their politicking in “silence.” Which is NOT a good way to influence voters to elect black candidates. We predict that this history of “Silence” from the Black Community leadership will repeat itself for at least another generation. Or more.

At least here in Cleveland County anyway!!! The Black Community’s “silent treatment” of Mr. Willie Green is proof positive of that. Although the Jury Box may turn out the results of fair treatment for Mr. Green that he seems unable to find anywhere else.
