Cleveland County Schools Violate Constitution–Again!!! Fails to Provide ALL students EQUAL access to a sound basic education!!! Report and arguendo by Robert A. Williams

The NC Supreme Court has ruled twice (Leandro vs. State of North Carolina)
that “North Carolina has a constitutional obligation to ensure ALL children have EQUAL ACCESS to a sound basic education that includes competent and well-trained teachers and principals, as well as EQUITABLE ACCESSs TO SUFFICIENT RESOURCES.” Take care to note the Bolded words in all capital letters.

I remembered that fact when Governor Roy Cooper first shut-down NC schools, allegedly because of the CORVID-19 coronavirus. (Some suspect Cooper, a Democrat, was willing to ruin our booming economy to beat President Trump in the November 2020 Elections.) So, I decided to keep my mouth shut about this for a while to see what would happen.

Then, on this April 15th morning on the CBS News, I heard a piece about the inequality of education right now because many poor, especially black, people can’t afford the internet. Now, it is my time to speak-out. The “fake news” democrat crowd is playing the RACE CARD again. The CBS people were saying that poor and black students were very often denied the equal access to education at home because their family couldn’t afford internet connections-so the kids at home could use their school provided computers. If they had computers to begin with. It was apparent somebody is going to push the federal government to provide internet connections as a Constitutional Right for everybody. Red and yellow, black and white.

I say bull-ony and hokum too. About all of that.

First, I went to Cleveland County Schools when there were no computers or internet. We all had TEXT BOOKS and were taught to read them. To write in cursive too. No word processing for us way back then. Do our multiplication tables too. Educators today must think that it was the stone age back then. But WE put a man on the moon and today they can’t.

Cleveland County has spent $$millions on computers that read to our students so they don’t have to learn to read. The computers can do math on their calculator apps. When the computer is charged-up or plugged-in anyway. I have learned to use computers now/ But I have also learned that they go obsolete every several years. So, you are always buying new computers to keep up with the times. I have personally bought at least ten new computers over the years, with only one being because of a fatal “crash.” I despised every new purchase when the old computer was working fine, although not fast enough or not enough memory for the new programs.

So, over the thirteen years between kindergarten and graduation a student may have to learn and relearn computer operating systems four to five times to stay up with the latest system. Cell phones too. When you learn to read, it is a one-time-thing that improves with practice. And you don’t have to continually learn new computer systems and languages.

So, Williams, get to the point here!!!

My point is, schools should go back to textbooks. Back to the basics. If all the CCS students used text books, which is much cheaper than computers-I don’t care what the egghead educators might say, every child would NOW have an equal access to a sound basic education as well as resources adequate for the task. Papers and pencils too so they can learn how to write in cursive and do their math problems on paper.

And parents wouldn’t have to worry about their children sharing nudie pictures of themselves or get lured to websites used by child sexual predators. I got my education that old way and it didn’t hurt me none. I learned to use a computer as a tool to get my job done more efficiently. And write my articles. But my house is full of books that I can lay my hands on when I need to. Or want to. I received a sound basic education and learned to think logically when I want to think logically and solve a problem. I knew the moment I heard CCS was shutting down that CCS would be in violation of the Leandro lawsuit Court Order because of their at-home computer-internet education efforts. I didn’t need the CBS Fake News tell me that.

What about you??? Have you heard about the CBS news story that poor people and blacks’ people without internet connections are NOT getting educated as required by the NC Constitution? And about how CCS’s education is ever going to catch up for all the time that was missed. Are YOU willing to pay for internet connections and computers for everybody, rich or poor, as a constitutional right? Or would UOU be in favor of using books as the “resource” to provide that constitutional right to an equal access to a sound basic education? At a clear savings to taxpayers.

BTW, don’t believe a word I said about the Leandro lawsuit and the Supreme Court decision and the supporting Court Orders. Look it up for yourself. If you’re a poor minority student, your sound basic education just got “blowed to hell” by the crooks and liars on the school board. Again!!!
