Documents Show Misdeeds, and More Coming out of the American League World Series Operation!!! Eddie Holbrook and family smack in the Middle!!! Report by Robert A. Williams

A trove of documents have come into my possession that tells the tale on the monkey business coming out of the Cleveland County American Series World Series Office at 117-A West Warren Street, Shelby.

Although I have only had time to do a cursory review of the documents, I have found:

• Re-Elect Eddie Holbrook for Commissioner campaign materials and financial reports. Certainly not ALWS business and a Clear violation of Federal Tax laws as well as State Campaign reporting laws.
• A copy of a $50,000 check where county taxpayer dollars have been funneled directly into the ALWS. Perhaps I will find other such checks as I dig further into this pile of documents.
• Financial records showing $10,200 has been provided by credit card from an out of county and out of state operative for the Catawba Indian Casino proposed for Cleveland County. Money to support gambling at the proposed Catawba Casino is certainly NOT an ALWS function to be paid for using ALWS and county funds. Also, regarding this so called “donation,” myself and others cannot differentiate this so called “donation” from bribe.
• Personal Belk Credit card billings to Brittany Beam, Eddie Holbrook’s stepdaughter, Holbrook’s political campaign treasurer and ALWS employee. This indicates Brittany Beam does Eddie Holbrook’s campaign work, her own personal bill paying work and perhaps other work not yet discovered while being paid by ALWS and County funding. A water bill made out to Jason Beam, Eddie Holbrook’s step son-in-law, is also included. Clearly not ALWS related, but proof an ALWS employee is doing personal business on ALWS time.
• A bank checkbook and associated Transaction “Register” for the 2017 Re-Election Campaign of School Board Member Danny Blanton. This bank information shows checks clearly political campaign related as well as checks to the campaigns of candidates Robert Queen, Rodney Fitch and Kevin Whisnant. Blanton’s campaign checks appear totally legitimate but certainly are NOT ALWS or Eddie Holbrook’s 2018 Campaign related. But raise the question; What is this material doing at the ALWS headquarters and in the hands of Eddie Holbrook’s daughter in law Brittany Beam. And now, in MY hands!
• Much Mail addressed to Eddie Holbrook at his Home location that ended up in this trove of information coming out of the ALWS headquarters.
• A letter from Isothermal Community College soliciting a $1,000 donation from ALWS. Like last year! Why is ALWS donating money to others that was donated to ALWS. I wonder if the American Legion Headquarters in Indiana know about this.

Folks, that is just a start for the documents and records from the ALWS Headquarters.

From this information and more, it appears Commissioner Eddie Holbrook has continued to mix his personal business, Political Campaign, Casino connections, County business and perhaps other activities under the guise of the American Legion World Series and of his role as county commissioner. It is believed that none of the ALWS assets that Holbrook has used for his political campaign have been reported to the Board of Elections as required Federal and State law.

A sample copy of the documents noted above are provided as proof for this article as shown below. Note there is much left to come as I sort through this material. Someone should contact the American Legion Headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana to see if they know what is going on in Shelby. As for me, I will forward this article to the Sheriff of Cleveland County, Shelby Police Chief, Elections Board and the CC District Attorney for action. I am not holding my breath on any of them doing anything. Perhaps the IRS and FBI will be next.

Editor’s Note: Cleveland County and Danny Blanton have confirmed that the checks and banking information presented to them in advance of publication are legitimate checks and banking information. Therefore, we have redacted banking information from the attachments that will be published as their authenticity is no longer in question. As well as Brittany Beams Belk’s Credit Card number. We have suggested to both Cleveland County and Danny Blanton that they consider the lack of proper handling of documents at the ALWS when providing financial information to the ALWS. We also suggested to Danny Blanton that he amend his campaign reporting to reflect the (probably illegal) in-kind donations to his campaign by an ALWS employee, Brittany Beam, apparently on ALWS’s time and certainly on ALWS property when preparing Blanton’s campaign reports to the Election’s Board. Same recommendation to Eddie Holbrook.
