Democrat Commissioner Candidate Eddie Holbrook’s Poor Relationship with Black Community and Women!!! Comments and information provided by Rev. Dante Murphy, Forwarded by Robert A. Williams

Editor’s Note: Massa Eddie Holbrook has previously asserted a good and proven relationship with the Black Community dating back to the early 60’s. Apparently what Mass Eddie asserted is far from the truth. The following emailed information from the Rev. Dante Murphy to Ronald Harrill accuses Harrill and others in the Black Community of selling out to Holbrook and the trouble that caused at the Shiloh Baptist Church as well as for women athletes at Shelby High School. Read it for yourself and decide whether or not Massa Eddie Holbrook deserves your vote in the 2018 Democrat Primary Election for Commissioner.

Dear Mr. Harrill,

I would ask that you please review this article prior to my making it public. I would also ask that out of courtesy it be forwarded to your pastor as I do not have his email. As the two-year statute is vastly approaching, I wanted to make public a statement prior to any actions on my part to bring to closure my pastorate at Shiloh Baptist Church. Thx.

The following statement with be made available to media outlets on April 13, 2018:

This response is a continuation of Mr. Eddie Holbrook’s invitation to examine his association “with the black community back to the 60’s.” As previously stated, I can only speak to what I observed over a ten-year period. A key moment during this period was Mr. Holbrook allegiance to assure financial support for The Community Math Academy. As I alluded to in my previous comment there were at least four prominent black leaders in the African American community that sold out their community and Mr. Holbrook was the buyer. I know this to be a fact because I along with other pastors were often rebuked for our endeavors to demand justice and fairness, especially, in the school system. To get a better understanding of the shenanigans at work in this black on black moral attack one would need to read Dr. Martin Luther King’s “Letter From a Birmingham Jail.”

To further explore the implications of Mr. Holbrook’s association with the black community I wish to present specifics regarding my pastoral demise at Shiloh Baptist Church. Background facts needed to understand all of this are as follows:
1) One of the key factors in ending a lawsuit that I filed against Cleveland County is sworn testimony that my supervisor was instructed by upper management to intimidate me by denying my right to preach at Shiloh Baptist Church. Mr. Holbrook in his capacity as county commissioner never went on record as opposing these actions or reprimanding DSS managers, who not only violated my rights by telling me that I could not fulfill my pastoral duties of preaching, but also were proven to have submitted false statements to the EEOC as a cover-up.
2) Ron Harrill is a key member of The Community Math Academy and a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Ron Harrill became more active in the last months of my time at Shiloh than he had been in the previous ten years.
3) Following one of Mr. Holbrook’s prior wins for reelection Robert Williams reported speculation that Mr. Holbrook would go after the black churches if he had lost his election.

The common thread of the forenamed facts is Mr. Holbrook’s association and connection with the black church. Any good Christian should wonder why county government would interfere with the church, especially, the denying of preaching God’s Holy Word. Most astute white politicians know that controlling black churches and black preachers is detrimental in controlling the temperature of the black community. It is well established that county governments sought to discredit me in the religious community by obstructed my ability to preach and same evil deeds eventually found its way into Shiloh Baptist Church. The documents I am presenting along with this response will sadly show the depth and brevity of Mr. Holbrook’s buyout of key black leaders and the lengths taken to manipulate both blacks and whites. The documents and excerpts will allow readers insight into Mr. Holbrook’s manipulation of Ron Harrill. The documents will also explain and give some insight as why legal action is necessary to remedy and preserve what I consider as the African American experience. The timeline of these events are as follows:

5-11-16 is a excerpt from official church meetings with Ron Harrill stating that there would be a meeting to cut salaries. Ron Harrill failed at this point to acknowledge that the church operated on a church approved budget and any cuts would have been applicable for the physical year that would start in October.

8-19-16 is a letter from two members indicating that the decision to immediately reduce the pastor ‘s salary had been made by a select few people in the church. This violated church protocol because the church operated on a church approved budget.

9-11-16 is an excerpt from a grievance directly implicating Ron Harrill as being part of a conspiracy to force me out as pastor.

10-15-16 is a detailed letter to Moderator Charles Webber regarding his agreement to mediate my separation as pastor from the church. This mediation agreement was later reneged upon by the church. I can only speculate as to Ron Harrill’s involvement in that decision.

10-25-16 is an admission from the church that they had wrongfully withheld salary and pastoral compensation beginning in June 2016. This explains why I was forced to have a job in place and took the first that came along.

Based on the snapshot of information presented, one is left to wonder why Ron Harrill played such a significant role in deceitfully, wrongfully, and illegally withholding pastoral compensation. These actions ultimately lead to my pastoral termination in violation of the church by-laws and constitution and a continuous contract between the church and pastor. The measures taken with Mr. Harrill’s involvement are as absurd as Cleveland County DSS telling me I was to refrain from preaching. The timeline of events demonstrates that the implications of Mr. Holbrook’s buyout of blacks has no limits and no boundaries.

I will also offer to the white community commonsense insight as to why Mr. Holbrook’s association “with the black community back to the 60’s” is also a reflection of his abusive association with the white community. During the years of my presidency as Cleveland County NAACP President and my daughter’s participation on the Shelby High School softball team, the white community repeatable asked of me to intervene into the neglect and discrimination against the girls’ softball team and other female sports. I regrettably chose not to engage myself at the time in hopes of preserving stability for my daughter’s association with the team and being a “true dad” in the family sense. The favoritism of the boys’ baseball team over the girls’ softball team was a valid concern as indicated by the thousands, or perhaps millions, of dollars put into the development of the boys’ baseball field and stadium. The immaculate stadium at Shelby High School may be traced directly back to Mr. Eddie Holbrook. As I recall the stadium visibly bears Mr. Holbrook’s imprint. The white community, especially women, who are not afraid to, should email Mr. Holbrook and demand a statement as to why he never advocated for the equal treatment of female sports. At the least the girls’ softball team should have been granted the pride of playing on a “home field.” The point of this assertion is not to deem Mr. Holbrook a sexist no more than to deem him a racist. It is only in light of his own invitation to examine his association “with the black community back to the 60’s” that there also be an examination of his association with women during that same time period.

Editor’s Note: I have reviewed the documents Rev. Murphy has referred to in his statements and find his descriptions correct, fair and accurate. I have not included them with this article because they would be redundant and relate to official Church business. However, If Mr. Holbrook or his Uncle Tom challenges this account I would be glad to produce them under the proper legal circumstances.
