Phillip “Bully” Glover and Wife Engage in “Dirty Pool” Politics in School Board election!!

Editor’s Note: Maybe “Scaredy Cat” would be a better nick-name as Glover was too scared to participate in last weeks TEA Party forum–or even show up before an informed audience. Same with Tommy Greene and Guy Suttle. Glover, Greene and Suttle should just disqualify themselves and withdraw from their candidacy.

Trusted sources report that Phillip “Bully” Glover and his wife Holly Glover, a teacher at CCS, are engaged in “dirty pool” politics in this 2017 School Board Election. “Dirty Pool” meaning somewhere between unethical and illegal. But maybe both.

Bully has allegedly used his position as Chairman of the School Board to invite himself to speak to CCS employees and staff at before school starts meetings to address all the new teachers and staff. None of the other candidates, even incumbents like Danny Blanton and Kathy Falls, have been invited to speak at these meetings. Bully has taken this unfair advantage even further by advertising his Driver’s Education business. To my understanding, such unfair advantages offered Bully by CCS amount to “in-kind” campaign donations from CCS (Campaign donations by CCS are illegal as I understand NC campaign laws.), but in-kind donations are still supposed to be reported on election financial reports. We will check out Bully’s campaign financial reports as soon as he files them. I suspect Bully’s report will not include these donations from CCS. Same with Guy Suttle with his in-kind donations valued at $35,000+ from Cleveland Community College. More about that Community College scandal in another article.

Bully’s wife, Holly Glover (a CCS Teacher) allegedly has joined in Bully’s “dirty pool” campaign too. My first report was Mrs. Bully was using the CCS email system to request CCS employees and staff to put up “Glover for School Board” campaign yard signs in their yards. Under the Freedom of Information Act as well as NC Public Documents laws (School emails are public documents) I made a written request to inspect all of Bully’s and Mrs. Bully’s emails for the past three months. Superintendent Stephen Fisher refused to provide those emails, instead he provide a phony screen shot only saying Mrs. Bully had not sent out any “Political Sign” emails. Of course that was not what I asked for. And Fisher could have easily deleted such emails and then searched the emails and none would be found. After the August 14, 2017 secret Board Meeting and especially secret tour of the new North Shelby School tour where I was excluded because CCS had hidden their hard hats, how could I trust Supt. Fisher with anything?

But, apparently, my inquiries about Mrs. Bully and the emails made them change their MO. My next report was Mrs. Bully was telephone calling fellow CCS Employees and staff requesting (and perhaps insisting or insinuating) that they put “Glover for School Board” signs in their yards. Of course it was expected that these CCS employees would also vote for Bully. My reports indicate that many of those requested to put up Bully’s sign in their yard did so because they believed that if they did not their jobs would be in jeopardy, but when they went to vote by secret ballot, they planned to vote for other candidates-not Bully Glover for the School Board.

Folks, that is how old time good-ole-boy politics have worked in Cleveland County for a very long time. Many politically astute people notice campaign yard signs and whose yards they are in. If you are identified with having the “wrong” signs in your yard, you can be expected to not be promoted in your job or even lose your job. Your grown up children’s jobs too. Anybody think that is not still going on has lost their minds.

So, what is there to do?

If you ask me that question, what you do is put the signs in your yard, but when election day comes around, you vote for another candidate. My recommendation for the Democrat Primary is shown below in the Marked Up Democrat Primary Ballot. Then in November when the full slate of candidates are decided and on the General Election Ballot, I will provide my recommendations for that election. That way we have two chances to get rid of the worst of the candidates, namely, Bully Glover, Tommy Green, Guy Suttle and Coleman Hunt..
